Tri Lo Sprintec Ethinyl Estradiol + Norgestimate

Ethinylestradiol (EE) is an estrogen medication which is used widely in birth control pills in combination with progestins.[7][8] In the past, EE was widely used for various indications such as the treatment of menopausal symptoms, gynecological disorders, and certain hormone-sensitive cancers. It is usually taken by mouth but is also used as a patch and vaginal ring.[7][12] The general side effects of EE include breast tendernes...

Long story short I was unable to get my last birth control prescription filled so I haven't had for about two weeks now. Will I just have to start over at the next month and be fine?? ## I was wondering if after taking the IC tri-sprintec tablets for three weeks if i would be protected against pregnancy? ## After missing that many days, you will need to fully start over in order to be protected against pregnancy, generally that requires taking it for a full cycle, IE: one month. Vaughn, you are only protected while actively taking it, so you should continue beyond 3 weeks, if you are actively engaging in intercourse. The FDA lists the typical side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, irregular bleeding, mood changes, and weight changes. R...

I having been takin tri spintec for 3 years and after my husband has been 'fixed i no longer need it: so my question is, will i experience any side effects because of not taking this anymore ## Yes, you can experience some minor effects, because your body will have to readjust to not having the hormones. This could include some nausea, weight fluctuations and acne. It will not last for too long, however, usually a month or so, at most. Do you have any other questions?

I used to take Sprintec and my period would start on Mondays. I was off of it a few months because my prescription ran out and it took me a while to get to the doctor. I want to stay with a Monday start so what day should I start back taking my pills? ## Hello, Keshia! How are you? You can start them on a Monday, as long as your doctor approves and it doesn't necessarily have to be when you are on your period. You can start them at any time during your cycle, but if you aren't on your period, it will take 7 days for them to reach their full level of efficacy in the body to prevent pregnancy. So, you'll need to use a back up form of protection, until the 8th day. The FDA lists the most common side effects of oral contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headach...

I just got a prescription for Tri Sprintec. Last Thursday was my last day of my cycle. Which pill do I start taking now since I already had my cycle? ## Hello, Megan! How are you? You can actually start it at any time, unless your doctor gives some reason why you cannot, but if you start it when you are not on your period, you'll need to use a back up method of protection for the first full 7 days, because it will take that long to become effective and prevent pregnancy. Is there anything else I can help with? ## How do I know if I need sprintec or not and what if I dont what side effects could occur

Will I definitely get my period on the last week of the Tri Lo Sprintec pills? That's the white pills in my pack. ## There is no way to say you definitely will. You should get it that week, however, there are many reasons a woman may skip a period or start late. How long have you been taking them? Do you normally start your period on time? ## I have been on Tri-Lo-Sprintec for about 9 months now and yes like many other women have been experiencing major anxiety issues, but what I want to know is, is it normal to be later or miss a period on the pill? I have started as late as a Thursday in the week but usually start on Wednesday. Is it possible? ## I've been taking Tri-Lo Sprintec now for almost a year, but this month I have not gotten my period. I have to start my new pack tomo...

Ladies, please do not take this awful pill!! I would never take Tri-Lo-Sprintec (TLS) pill again!! Ever! As happened to many of you, one day showing up at the pharmacy I found out that my insurance would not cover OTC-Lo (which I have been taking for 5 years) and that I'd have to pay $75 instead of previously paying $0. The pharmacist assured me that the generic TLS is EXACTLY THE SAME as OTC-Lo. Stupid me, I didn't do my homework research and started taking TLS the next week. Almost right away, I started spotting. From day to day, I would experience sharp and dull pain in my lower stomach which I had never experienced on OTC-Lo; at first, I didnt even link it to the new pill. I also started experiencing bad mood swings. I had some on OTC-Lo before but now they became much worse...

Was just put on Tri-Lo Sprintec after being on Ortho Tri-Cyclen Lo for 10 years... It says you have the option of a Sunday start date, which you start the first Sunday after you start your period unless you start your period on Sunday - in which case you take it the same day. I started my period on Sunday, but didn't pick up my prescription until Tuesday. Can I still start this coming Sunday, or do I now have to wait a month? ## Well, really if you were just switching from one prescription to another, you shouldn't have had any gap in taking it, you should have just continued with the new pill in place of the old one. Otherwise, since you've now had a gap, I am not certain if they will want you to wait a month or just start on Sunday. Have you consulted your doctor? They wil...

Ive been on tri sprintec for exactly two weeks now and im braking out... A lot. All over my cheast and my face. Ive tryed to clear it up but i cant and its getting worse. Will this change???? ## Did you contact your doctor? Has it cleared up, any? Since these are hormonal based contraceptives, they will sometimes cause breakouts, in some people, when your body is still getting used to them. It usually clears up, after about 3 months, once your body has adjusted to the medication.

This is the first month I've been on birth control and I was told to start it right away, and I did, so 2 weeks into my first pack I started my period, but before it started I had 2 or 3 days of terrible cramping, which is why I went on birth control in the first place, I figured it was normal and kept taking the pills once a day but the cramping hasn't gone away, normally my periods are 3 days long but so far it's been a week and hasn't stopped plus the 3 days and in total my cramps have been far worse than they ever have been before, and the blood that is coming out is bright red and thin, normally my period blood is dark and thick, I don't know if this is normal but I can't handle the cramping much longer. ## Hello, Kirsten! How are you doing? I'm sorry ab...

I started my new pack and only took three pills. Because I missed so many I just decided to stop it all together. Trying to get pregnant. Now I've been off for about two weeks. I'm ovulating this week. Now I am having cramps and very light spotting. Am I going to start my period early because I stopped taking it on day three? ## Hello, Heather! How are you doing? Has anything changed? Yes, that can occur, since this is a hormonal contraceptive, as classified by the FDA. The cramping can also be a withdrawal effect, you may also experience headache and other PMS-like symptoms. In a few weeks, however, things should return to normal, if not, then please consult your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Looks like I started my menstralcycle early. I've been on sprintec for 2mnths first period was great.i miss taking pills for two weeks now I have started having my second period on pills and I'm not bleeding really bad but I am cramping like hell wat to do? Is this normal ? Wat can i take to stop this pain it's so bad I wanna go to the emergency room someone please help ## Hello, Cookie88! How are you? That can happen due to hormonal imbalance, which would be expected if you missed 2 weeks of pills. Why did you miss so many? You might want to look into getting yourself a reminder app for our phone, if you have a smartphone, to help avoid missing them in the future. Have you consulted your doctor? They may be able to suggest something to help with the cramps.

I take Tri-Sprintec and I was wondering if missing the last 2 white pills in the package (for Friday and Saturday made any difference at all and if it's okay for me to just ignore those and begin my next package which starts Sunday? By not taking the last 2 white pills, will my period stop for the last 2 days of my cycle? ## The last week of pills in the Tri-Sprintec 28 day pack are inactive, and can be skipped, however, this will not alter the duration of your period, it should still last as long as it normally does, unless your doctor states otherwise. Ref: Tri-Sprintec Information The FDA lists the typical side effects of hormonal contraceptives as possibly including nausea, dizziness, weight changes, mood changes, and irregular vaginal bleeding.

Hi. I just started my 3rd pack of pills and I have had continous bleeding (like a medium period) since the 1st pack. Should I stop taking them or will my body eventually adjust and stop bleeding? I feel like it's never going to stop! ## Hello, Reo! How are you? According to the FDA, irregular bleeding can occur for the first 3 months, while your body is getting used to the hormones. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, weight gain, irritability and PMS-like symptoms. If it doesn't stop by the 4th month, then you may need this may not be the right contraceptive for you and you'll need to speak to your doctor about trying something else. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have been on ortho tri cyclin lo before and it was wonderful! My periods were li...

I forgot to to take the blue active tri-sprintec pills for 3 days. Days Thursday, Friday, Saturday on the first row of pills. On Sunday morning I started bleeding a lot. Should I take 3 on Sunday and take 2 on Monday or start a new pack or just continue the same pack.. And how long should I wait to have intercourse.. I don't know what to do.. please help! please and thank you ## Hello, Diana! How are you? You are at the point where you should just start a new pack and you'll need to wait a full 7 days of taking the active tablets, before having unprotected intercourse, again. That means it will not be safe to do so, until the 8th day. If you have a smart phone, there are apps that you can download, many of them free, that you can set to remind you to take your medications. My fi...

I'm crrently taking Junel Fe 1/20, which is a low-dose birth control pill - I think. Walmart has Sprintec and Tri-sprintec on its $4 Rx program. Would either of them be comparable or low-dose? ## You do not have to be on your period to start Sprintec. You can however start it on your first day of your period or the first Sunday after your menstrual cycle. ## Tri-Sprintec is not! You should try asking your doctor or pharmacist to find a viable generic alternative. ## do you have to take the last week of pills the white ones?

I am 37 yrs old my doctor prescribed sprentec to help with my heavy periods due to endometriosis. How long should it take before I see results? I have been on my period for 5 days and it has not showed any signs of slowing? ## Hi, Misty! How long have you been taking the Tri Sprintec? If you just started it a few days ago, when you started your period, then it's far too soon for it to have an effect. You most likely won't see any changed until your next period. Usually, heavy periods are caused by a deficiency in Progesterone and that is very common with endometriosis, your age can also play a role, since anovulatory cycles usually start around age 35. Since this contraceptive contains both a form of estrogen and progesterone, it may help with your heavy bleeding. ## Hello I wen...

I started my first pack of tri-sprintec on 6/22, as per my doctor. Apparently it went against my natural cycle, as my period came as scheduled on 6/26 and lasted until 7/2 (a bit longer than normal). I have continued to take the pills as prescribed and understand that my body needs to adjust to the hormones, but should I expect another period to come when I start the white pills (on 7/13)? I know that ultimately, I will end up there since that is the point, as they are the inactives, I just want to be prepared. Thank you! ## Hello, Elizabeth! How are you? It is normal to experience irregular bleeding for the first 3 months, or so, while your body adjusts to the hormones. The FDA lists other side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and weight changes. And yes, you w...

Hi, I have my period today (Thursday) but can I start taking Tri-Sprintec on Sunday instead of today? Because I will be on a vacation next month and I dont want to have my period during those days. ## Hello, Charm! How are you? No, as long as your doctor approves, you can start it at any time, but if you don't start it on the first or second day of your period, it will take 7 days to reach its full level of efficacy in your body to prevent pregnancy, so you'll need to use some other form of protection for the first week. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, spotting and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?

I am 19 been on sprinter for 5 months now. I recently tried to skip my period by not taking the white pills. It's been two weeks and I'm still bleeding. It's light but I was just wondering if it's normal? I still have a little pain like cramps but is not that bad. So I don't know if I should contact my doctor?! ## Hello, Gabriela! How are you? Yes, that can be normal, when you try to skip, it doesn't always work and the disruption of the hormonal balance can cause you to bleed longer than usual. It's generally not something to be concerned about, unless your doctor feels otherwise. The FDA lists other typical side effects of this medication as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache and PMS-like symptoms. Is there anything else I can help with?
