How long does trihexyphenidyl chloride work in your system before being excreted from your body? ## Hi Maggie, According to a peer reviewed journal by the US National Library of Medicine, the estimated reported half-life of Trihexyphenidyl is said to be 3.7 hours, give or take 40 minutes; at which point in time half of whatever mg dosage you took will be left working in your body (the other half excreted). So every 3.3 - 4.1 hours, "half of that remaining half" will be eliminated, and so forth until the medication is no longer active in your body. Question! Where can I find Chlor-Trimeton 12hr 12mg allergy pills? (near San Diego, CA) It seems that whenever a new allergy medicine comes on the market (Claritin, Zyrtec), CT disappears for a year or so. Available in Canada as Chlor-Tripolon but only for a short while as everyone in the US starts buying it on-line when CT disappears. This time, I haven't noticed any new product roll-out. I have used products with the combo of Chlorpheniramine Maleate 4 mg, Pseudoephedrine hcl 60 mg, on a spot basis for years. Now I can't find, under any of the brand names, in any of the stores, I have used in the past. They were under control, requiring gov't ID at the Pharmacy counter. Was this not enough? Have they all been banned? Triaminic Cold & Allergy also had same ingredients. ## Their disappearance from pharmacy shelves is due to the restrictions causing severely lowered sales. This caused many companies to switch to using Phenylephrine. Have you tried talking to your doctor about it? what was the retail price of chlortrimeton 4 mg in 1949 ## I've seen Chlor-Trimeton Allergy Relief 4 Hour Tablets range from $4-$7 in the current retail market, depending on the manufacturer and number of pills. Unfortunately there's no specific details online regarding Chlor-Trimeton prices in the 1940's-1950's. Apparently the patent for this medication was approved prior to Jan 1, 1982; but that is all the information I could gather at the moment.
