NATRISE TAB CONSIST OF SALT TOLVAPTAN ,is given to my father aged 78 yrs, for sodium difficiency , Is there any side effect of the same and how long he has to take this medicine , being too costly. Also pl suggest alternate medicine for curing sodium defficiency. ## Learn more Tolvaptan details here. How long he will have to take it depends on how fast he responds. Do they know what caused the hyponatremia? Does he suffer from CHF? As to alternative medications, I really don't know what's available there. Have you tried asking the pharmacist/chemist? They should be able to help. The side effects may include: nausea, problems with muscle control, mood changes and dizziness.

If the doctor is prescribing Tolvaptan molecule, then you can buy Hyponat O tablet which also contains the same molecule and is the cheapest drug available with no compromise in quality as it is manufactured by Zydus. It cost about Rs. 29 for a tablet

I've been prescribed Tolvaptan. I'm a United States citizen and it is too expensive here. I'm aware of all the generic brands circulating in India (Hyponat-O, Resodim, Tolsama, Tolvat, etc.) Is there any way for me to get these drugs delivered to the United States? I have someone in India asking for this drug since his father is terminally ill from a kidney disease (I am in US). Is it being sold yet? ## Tolvaptan hasn't been FDA approved yet. Phase 3 clinical trials are beginning. Check the PKD Foundation website for more info/clinical trials. The Mayo Clinic is one of several centers participating in the trial. ## Also, please check the PKD charity website.
