Hello I have been on Amplodipine 5mg tablets for 18 months but my ankles kept swelling up. They have changed my tablets to Losartan Krka 50mg which I did not take as I thought they made a mistake by giving me 50mg tabs instead of 5mg. The doctor has now said that it is ok to take 50mg as it is the same as the 5mg tabs just a different make .I am not sure about this can you please confirm this is correct I know live in Cyprus and I know of many mistakes that have been made here.. Thank you Linda ## Hello, Linda! How are you? Sorry about the confusion. Yes, if you were on 5mgs of Amlodipine, you'd need 50mgs of the Losartan to be therapeutically equivalent. The Losartan is in a different class of medications, it's an ARB, while Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker, so they work...

I am scheduled to take 1, 3 times a day. they are orange (light) a V on one side, scored and say on the back; 36 score mark 05. I have taken as many as 4 at one time w/o getting relief, but do feel there is a small amount in them, just to keep from withdrawal. ## In addition, I got this RX from the hospital pharmacy, no independent parties were involved. Are these places more likely to get less potent or fake tablets? or was there misuse of the main ingredients in the manufacturing process? ## Most likely it's just that the medication doesn't work well for you for pain. Not everything works for everyone that tries it, which is why there are usually multiple options to try in any therapeutic medication category. Additionally, if you've taken it before, your body may have buil...

Another problem with generic not feeling my normal self as with Watson mfg. After two weeks I'm irritable moody cry easily and problems sleeping...don't dare to be sociable. Same problems as the generic Sunco... Why aren't these regulated better? This is my life. ## Hello, Laura! How are you? Under the Hatch-Waxman Act of 1984, generics are allowed to differ from the name brand, in the amount of the active ingredient, by as much as plus or minus 20%. However, they do not have to measure against each other, only against the name brand. This was done to help bring generics to market faster, in hopes of keeping prices lower. The FDA considers this an acceptable therapeutic window and, for most people, it doesn't cause a problem. But some people are sensitive to medications ...

My Pharmacy switched my prescription from the green pills that are Oval shape to these pink pills that are round and are not as effective with the control of my high blood pressure. What am I taking because it is not Losartan as before. ## This tablet is listed by the U.S. FDA as containing 25mgs of Losartan, however, there can be some slight differences in generic medications. They do allow them to differ in the amount of the active ingredient by as much as plus or minus 20%, they consider this an acceptable therapeutic window and, for most people, it doesn't make a difference. However, if you are sensitive to medications, then any fluctuation could cause a problem. Have you tried asking the pharmacy if they can order the other one in for you? Or perhaps speaking to your doctor abo...

Folbic Tab Brenckrdg an oval pill pink with b384 on it . Will it help with memory ? also how long can you take this pill? ## Hi Betty. The Folbic tablets contain Cyanocobalamin (Vitamin B12) 2 mg + Folic Acid 2.5 mg + Pyridoxine (Vitamin B6) 25 mg - in other words, they are a B vitamin supplement. Vitamin B6 is thought to have a number of therapeutic benefits, including improved memory. "A double-blind, placebo controlled study found that memory improved in elderly men that supplemented with pyridoxine, according to the Linus Pauling Institute. However, more research is needed to determine if pyridoxine improves cognition in unimpaired individuals." I have Hydroxyzine HCL tablets 5 mg. and I need to know what they are used for. My Doctor Prescribed them to me and I don't understand what they are for. ## "Hydroxyzine is used primarily as an antihistamine for the treatment of itches and irritations, an antiemetic for the reduction of nausea, as a weak analgesic by itself and as an opioid potentiator, and as an anxiolytic for the treatment of anxiety. Even though it is an effective sedative, hypnotic, and tranquiliser, it shares almost none of the abuse, dependence, addiction, and toxicity potential of other drugs used for the same range of therapeutic reasons." Based on the above details, what do you think they were given to you for? Please see the following page for more details: Do you have any other questions or inform...

HI, I'm taking amitriptyline for interstitial cystitis and have recently been diagnised with under active thyroid so am on Levothyroxine 50mg per night. My bladder is really playing up and I'm wondering if these tablets don't work well together? Has anyone experienced this. I don't know whether I've an infection or just need to increase my amitriptyline because its a flare up. Help please! ## The only interaction listed is that the Levothyroxine can actually make the Amitriptyline work better and some doctors have used it, therapeutically, to do so. All medications can affect people different, though, and this site is not medical professionals to pinpoint your problem. Have you spoken to your doctor about it, yet? ## I also have IC. Why is one tablet 7.5 tiny and another by different manufacturer much larger? Are they adding extra ingredients and if so why? I find it odd one can be so small and another so big. I checked and both are correct dosage. ## Yes, it is due to the inactive ingredients that they use. There is a list of them that are considered inactive and benign, with no therapeutic effect that the manufacturer can choose from, when making the tablets. Learn more Meloxicam details here. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for your reply. Is it possible to get a list of the inactive ingredients ? This pill has a 79 on one side and a c on the other. It is 7.5. I often wonder what exactly we are taking in a pill like this. Thank you.
