Sudafed Cold & Allergy Chlorpheniramine + Pseudoephedrine

Pseudoephedrine (PSE) is a sympathomimetic drug of the phenethylamine and amphetamine chemical classes. It may be used as a nasal/sinus decongestant, as a stimulant, or as a wakefulness-promoting agent[4] in higher doses.[5] It was first characterized in 1889, by the German chemists Ladenburg and Oelschlägel, who used a sample that had been isolated from Ephedra vulgaris by the Merck pharmaceutical corporation of Darmstadt, Germany.[6] The...

I have used products with the combo of Chlorpheniramine Maleate 4 mg, Pseudoephedrine hcl 60 mg, on a spot basis for years. Now I can't find, under any of the brand names, in any of the stores, I have used in the past. They were under control, requiring gov't ID at the Pharmacy counter. Was this not enough? Have they all been banned? Triaminic Cold & Allergy also had same ingredients. ## Their disappearance from pharmacy shelves is due to the restrictions causing severely lowered sales. This caused many companies to switch to using Phenylephrine. Have you tried talking to your doctor about it? I believe they can still prescribe Pseudoephedrine, which may make it easier for you to find. Ref: Medline Plus Pseudoephedrine Pseudoephedrine may cause side effects, such as nausea, ...

only writing on the pill is 44 544 ## what is this? blue pill says 44 544 ## What is this pill - with 44544 imprint This is a blue pill oblong shape thanks ## Sudafed PE Nighttime Cold 44-544 is blue and oblong ## thank you ## To add some specifics, the ingredients in this tablet are 325mgs of Acetaminophen, 25mgs of Diphenhydramine and 5mgs of Phenylephrine, it used to reliever allergy or cold symptoms, but since the Diphenhydramine can cause drowsiness, it is considered a nighttime formulation. Older formulations of this may have contained Pseudoephedrine, rather than Phenylephrine, so before assuming, please check the information on the packaging. Are there any other questions or comments? More Acetaminophen details are available here, you can find more Diphenhydramine details here...

Please help!! ## I know of a pill with imprint 44 ---- 111 It has 1's instead of I's, but is the same color and shape, so maybe that is what you are referring to. Good Luck ! ## The identification provided is correct, Genaphed Plus contains 4mg of Chlorpheniramine, and 60mgs of Pseudoephedrine. It is manufactured by Teva Pharmaceuticals. NDC: 00182-1471 It is commonly used to treat cold, and allergy symptoms. The FDA lists its typical side effects as poss...
