Stay Alert Caffeine

Caffeine is a central nervous system (CNS) stimulant of the methylxanthine class.[11] There are several known mechanisms of action to explain the effects of caffeine. The most prominent is that it reversibly blocks the action of adenosine on its receptors and consequently prevents the onset of drowsiness induced by adenosine. Caffeine also stimulates certain portions of the autonomic nervous system. It is also used as a cognitive enhancer which increases alertness and attenti...

Well I've had many late nights the past 7 months on vyvanse but I have never had a full one..I'm talking up since 11 am yesterday and it's currently 8 am (took 80mg but at like..3pm)..really no point in sleeping now, and I took 0.5 mg of clonazepam and it did nothing. BASICALLY for me to get through the day (until 10 pm ish) should I get the f*** up and get a vanilla latte at Starbucks and then take my 80 mg again? I really hate feeling as if I'm "abusing" my medication because it truly has worked wonders for my GAD and inability to focus... But right now is crunch time and I have to finish a paper today for tomorrow, and I have class 6-9 I need to be alert for (in class-quiz)... HELP PLEASEEE ## Hi Alessia, It sounds like this medication is working too well if y...

artvigil 150mg. required due to groggyness in the morning.the medication helps me to stay alert all day and has been suggested by usa physician. ## Hi george, Glad to hear that Artvigil has been helping to reduce the morning grogginess. Grogginess seems to be a fairly common trait in the morning hours, and I'd imagine that some portion of it is related to the quality of sleep we get at night, what kind of nutrients our bodies need more of, or our general mindset as we intend to get started with our day... However reading your post has made me even more curious to understand how medications like Artvigil (Armodafinil) might "feel" in relationship to other stimulants such as caffeine, ginseng, or even a that jolt of energy from being excited for the upcoming day? Any thoughts ...

Nuvugil is a very expensive form of Provigil, which is a medicatiom used for those with narcolepsy, those who work rotating shifts and those who need help staying alert during the day. Nuvigil has to be approved by your medical insurance company and the original price is about $386.82 for 30 pills. With insurance, the prescription is $89. Nuvigil is expensive but it does keep me awake. ## Nuvigil contains the active ingredient Armondafanil, it is a stimulant medication used to treat narcolepsy. It has NOT, yet, been approved for the other uses you mentioned. The reason it is so expensive is because it is very new to the market. It was only approved by the FDA in 2007, so there are no generics available at this time. The price with medical insurance or without it, will vary according to ...

Hello, I've been prescribed 5/325 due to chronic Back pain from degenerative disc disease (DDD). The meds make me feel really focused and alert, not drowsy. Now before I see a bunch of threads to tell me to stay clear of these drugs, I am not here to discuss addiction. I seeking out answers to two questions: why/how does it make me feel more focused and what alternatives are out there which don't give me this "high alert" feeling? Preferably something that isnt a CII drug. What is in hydrocodone that would make someone feel the opposite of drowsy? Its hopeless if I'm in pain after a long day because if I take a pill then I would be up all night and destroyed the next day. Which will eventually cause a chain reaction making me want to take it just to keep me awake. I...

I am very pleased to say that I take all three of these great medications. The suboxone is the most important because it keeps me from craving other drugs which I used to abuse. I take 12mg a day. The Adderall XR 30mg is helpful with ADHD and staying alert. It keeps me going all day. And finally, last but definitely not least is the klonopin 1.5mg a day. Nothing else has touched my anxiety or made me feel so comfortable around people. Each med is important, and I would highly recommend this mix for anyone with anxiety, ADHD, and substance abuse disorder. Of course, they’re all controlled substances so you have to control yourself and be responsible, especially with a history of substance abuse. Other than that, just find a good doctor who cares and take them as prescribed. If you ...

Not too sure about Brintellix yet. Very low dose (5mg) once a day for 4 days now. One positive: more alert, and depression doesn't feel as 'depressing'. Minor nausea, headache, sleep disruptive, some racing thoughts at night. Most disappointing - a persistent low level anxiety seems present and I'm on it primarily for GAD. This med seems much less compatible for me than Klonopin prn. Was hoping for better results but will stay on Brintellix 4-5 days more to see if symptoms abate. ## How are you doing today with the Brintellix? ## @Sailorcat, From what I understand, antidepressants like Brintellix can take several days or weeks to start working as indicated. However if side effects become too unbearable, I would still suggest discussing other options with your doctor. Als...

1. Limit yourself to one pharmacy and one prescriber of any narcotic. If you have another Dr. That's OK with you staying with another, I suggest you mention the drug or at least be honest about your mixing medicines and prescibers. Most will check you for polydrug use. If you break the covenant about getting controlled drugs from many sources chances as they will drop you as a patient. Also, the RPh may alert the staff of your dishonesty. Always give 24 hours notice at least on refill requests. The problem is with obtaining over the maximum allowable amount of controlled Rx's is the possibility of divertion or addiction and before you know it, your consumption no longer controls your cause of pain. The pain killers may mask the reason you have tbe distress and pain. Then, you have

I have been taking oxycodone 30mg and hydrocodone 10/325 for a little over 7 years now because of a back injury. Everything has been Ok until I got my script this month, taking the 2 meds above have always worked ok on my pain and made it able to be awake and stay alert when I get to spend time with my little grandbabies even though we don't get to play that much because of my stupid back at least we get to spend time together!!!!! This last script though when I take my meds I'm wanting to pass out sleepy, no different company or pills. Why the change where I'm awake and can motivate and now want to pass out? ## Drowsiness can be a normal side effect of these medications, according to the FDA. You may also experience nausea, dizziness, headache, constipation, and dry mouth. ...

I was taking hydrocodon 10-325 and now my dr switched me to Percocet 10-325 and when I take it it puts me to sleep for hours and keeps me drowsy all day is this what it is suppose to do when my other hydrocodone didn't do this to me I was able to stay active and alert and do my daily duties. ## Hello, Ricky! How are you? The Oxycodone in the Percocet is actually stronger than the Hydrocodone, so what you're taking now is more potent, which is likely why it's making you drowsy. How long have you been taking it? It should improve after about 4 weeks or so, once your body adjusts to the medication. This is a narcotic analgesic, so it has the potential to be habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. ## I get constipated from...

Has anyone taken Redotex lately and if so, what side effects have you experienced? I was taking Phentermine prescribed by the doctor, but my doctor died so I was not able to get them any longer. Started taking Phentermine from Mexico but was told Redotex was better. I am just afraid of the side effects of the medication. ## Actually, I'd suggest staying away from the Redotex, the FDA has actually issued an alert with customs to be on the lookout for them, if searching or checking anyone's luggage or vehicles, because it is one of several diet medications from Mexico that have been found to contain dangerous combinations of drugs. Their said to contain an unusual form of Pseudoephedrine, Atropine and possible several others, as well. The Phentermine is probably the safest option....

I was once prescribed something to my panic attic, it was very strong. Non narcotic, got off xanex, tryed bus bar 15 mg 2 times a day. Now I'm trying to fig out the other non narcotic anxiety/ pain ## Have you tried looking into any natural alternatives, such as Essential Oils or various herbs? Kava Kava seems to be a solid option for panic attacks/anxiety: "This is one of the most popular choices for the treatment of anxiety and insomnia. It is a powerful herb from the South Seas. Used as an alternative to Valium, research studies have found it reduces anxiety equivalently. The advantage is that there are no addictive side effects with the Kava Kava. its round, white pf on one side with a score in the middle and 5 on the otherside ## Finding information on this was rather difficult, but from what I have found, it seems this contains 5mgs of immediate release Oxycodone, the active ingredient in OxyIR and it is manufactured by Purdue Pharma.
