I cannot swallow large pills. Can Skelaxin be deluted in a juice oe soda, and if so, in what. ## Skelaxin isn't time released, so you could just cut or break the pill and swallow the separate pieces, there's no need to dilute or dissolve it in anything. Are there the same ingredients and results ## Hello, Connie! How are you? They both treat the same conditions, since they are muscle relaxants, but no they do not contain the same active ingredients. Skelaxin contains the active ingredient Metaxalone, while Flexeril contains the active ingredient Cyclobenzaprine. I am allergic to sulfa durgs. Does skelaxin contain sulfa? ## No, the active ingredient in Skelaxin is Metaxalone, it is a msucle relaxant. What are side effects of Skelaxin and can it be taken if you have gastritis and also taking blood pressure meds? ## What has your doctor advised? There are no warnings about using it, if you have stomach problems, but it may cause some nausea and irritation, other side effects can include dizziness and drowsiness. As to the blood pressure medications, I can't check that information for you, without knowing the specific ones. Can you please post back with what you are on, so I can check for you?

Has anyone read about or experienced Complex Regional Pain Syndrome while taking Skelaxin? Also, is it ok to take over a long period of time? ## It can be taken as long as your doctor feels it is safe, and beneficial for you to do so. I took it for chronic pain for several years, and had no problems with it, though I will see I found its benefits to be minimal. My doctor has prescribed skelaxin for muscle spasms in my hands and feet due to osteoarthritis, it doesn't seem to help very much but I cannot take tizanidine because of serious side effects. (Hallucinations) I currently take Opana ER (10mg 3/day and Percocet 4/day) What other muscle relaxers can be prescribed? ## Hello, Toots! How are you? I am taking Skelaxin. The bottle says take one pill 3 times a day as needed. Is that 6 hours or 8 hours in between each dose? I don't usually take the first one of the day til about 7 or 8 in the morning at the earliest if I need it. ## Hello, Marie! How are you? That would be every 8 hours, 6 hours would be 4 times a day.
