I have taken Serax for anxiety attacks, works great but now insurance will no longer cover that medication. They recommend Xanax which I am highly allergic to, or Buspar which I read is mainly for long term use.I need something when I feel an anxiety attack coming on, not something I have to take all day every day. ## Hello, Sandra! If I look-up medications that can sound similar to this, there are quite a few possibilities: Sarafem, which contains Fluoxetine, an antidepressant. Serax, which contains Oxazepam, a Benzodiazepine. Seroquel, which contains Quetiapine an antipsychotic. Sirolimus, which contains rapmycin, an immunosuppressant. Suramin,for cancer treatment. As well as many others, listed under the letter C. Its my understanding that oxazepam is a weaker benzo that is what my psych said I have tried every benzo and feel I get no relief from any he last had me on klonopin allowing up to 3 Mgs daily but I felt it wasn't helping he switched me to oxazepam only cause its the only one I didnt try and thought to give it a shot but he prescribed 15 Mgs 4 times a day I think this is far less than the equivalent of klonopin 3 Mgs a day does anyone know if I'm right does anyone who tried other benzos use or had used serax please let me know ## Hello, Theresa! ## I was prescribed Vistaril but am testing positive for a drug I've never taken. Wondering if pharmacy error. I am on a lot of meds and taking drug tests for probation, i have been testing positive for benzos for months and the lab never finds them but my last test a week ago showed positive for restoril and serax, even though i am not taking them. What meds can cause this? ## I take Xanax and percocet, plus a lot of other things. I have been on antibiotics for awhile. Anyway, the past 2 months, my urine test showed positive for timazepam! I have tested positive for it the past 2 months! I have NO idea what it is. Could the combination of any medications make timazepam make it test positive?

It is used for nerves, panic attacks, muscle spasm. It can be addictive and has side effects of marked drowsiness, dizziness, fainting. ## In the paid database I use, I found DAN 5617, so it does exist. It is Oxazepam 10mgs, a generic for the Benzodiazepine Serax.
