Is secobarbital still available in the United States. ## Hello, Nik! How are you? Yes, it is listed as still being available to treat epilepsy and insomnia, though it also has some pre-operative uses with anesthesia. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including somnolence, nausea, nightmares, headache and impaired balance. Is there anything else I can help with?

I can an incurable illness. I need to acquire seconal for purposes of euthanasia. How can I do this? ## Hi Gio, I'm sorry to hear that you are trying to use this medication to end your life. For this very reason, I have my doubts that a doctor would even be willing to write you a script for it. Seconal (Secobarbital sodium) is a "prescription-only" medication, indicated for: Treatment of epilepsy, Temporary treatment of insomnia, & Used as a preoperative medication to produce anaesthesia and anxiolysis in short surgical, diagnostic, or therapeutic procedures which are minimally painful. Thanks, Wayne ## Hi Wayne, According to fda.gov, Pharmaceutical Associates, Inc (PAI) has discontinued manufacturing all forms of Pentobarbital (Nembutal) here in the US. Secobarbital (Seconal) has also been discontinued in some countries as well, so if you're really set on finding this medication you may have to travel outside of the country in search of other manufacturers. A lot of people tend to visit Mexico for these types of things, but I couldn't guarantee that you'd even be able to find it after hearing about all the health problems associated with its use. I live in Moorpark,ca and would like to find a Dr. that would prescribe. My Dr. retired and left me hanging. Seems like they don't even want to write for Xanax now. Thanks MJ. I have suffered chronic insomnia for over 30 years and now my current doc will not prescribe any hypnotics at all. I used to rotate 3/4 meds to avoid tolerance, on the advice of a previous, much more understanding GP. He would script me triazolam, quinalbarbitone (now called Secobarbital) or the combo Tuinal, methaqualone and flunitrazepam 2mg. I am looking for a source of TOQUILONE, made by Medichemie, Switzerland, which is precisely the same as the old, now withdrawn, drug MANDRAX. 250mg of methaqualone plus 25mg diphenhydramine.
