I need help getting help with Savella. The doctor has been able to help until now with samples and his nurse just told me to go your site for help getting the Savella. I can't work and have no money. I have been taking Savella for over a year. The Dr. just increased the MG the price is 95.00 for one month. We are on a fixed income. I can't find any help on the web. I WAS PRESCRIBED SAVELLA FOR NEUROPATHY. I'M NOW ON THE HIGHER DOSE WITH LOTS OF HOT FLASHES. PRETTY FOGGY WITH IT ALSO. AS FAR AS THE PAIN, IT SEEMS TO BE HELPING. I'M HOPING THESE HOT FLASHES SUBSIDE AS TIME GOES BY. ## Both of the symptoms you stated can be normal side effects of this medication. How long have you been taking it, now? It may take about 2 weeks, or so, but the side effects should start to taper off as your body adjusts to the medication, but can expect to experience them, again, anytime you are given a higher dosage. I was on Lyrica 75 mg for 14 days, 150 mg for 1 day. Had nausea, headache, drunk-like feeling. Doctor took me off after 15 days. The very first day off, I had the worst pain in my abdomin, nausea, bad headache & unable to eat. After 2 weeks doctor started me on Savella. It has been 5 days on it & I have not been able to eat anything but 1 - 2 bites of food a day. Nausea so bad I had to have my husband stop on the side of the road after 3 minutes of driving. My abdomin feels like I have been poisoned. I am waking up 15 times a night, while taking 10 mg of Ambien at night. Bad headache & severe fatigue. Diarreah for 4 weeks now. Okay I quit taking Lyrica about a week and a half ago, I just stopped feeling drunk about 2 days ago. I am on day 3 of Savella Titration pack and I am starting to feel much better, I actually have energy! There are blogs like this one about Savella and some people say there are nasty side effects while your body gets used to this med as well, but I have not felt any yet. The only thing i noticed is that I had a little nausea the first day but none since then. Keeping my fingers crossed. ## Today is my third day of Savella- first day at 25 mg x/day. I suffer from fibromyalgia (for years) amungst other muscle and joint diseases, and have always taken Lyrica, which has greatly helped. Last week I saw a specialist and he decided to keep me on the Lyrica but added Savella. He said it was new and approved for fibro. What he did NOT tell me was that it is an anti depressant. I cant take anti depressants because every single one of them causes ab adverse reaction in me. After 3 days of being on Savella, I began to feel like I was getting the flu. After being diagnosed with Fibromyalgia I have taken Neurotin, Topomax, Lyrica and now Savella. During this period of time I have gained 70lbs. I want to know what medication I can take for the fibro that will relieve headache pain yet will stop the weight gain and maybe even help me to get rid of this extra weight. ## There is actually no way to say how any medication will affect any person that takes it, so there is really no way to answer this question. Does Savelle have Gluten in it? ## Does Savella have gluten in it? ## Hi Paula, In order to determine whether or not a medication has gluten, one would need to contact the manufacturer for a list of the inactive ingredients. I can tell you based on personal experience that most medications do not contain any gluten; but caution is always advised for those with an intolerance. Do you perhaps have a pill imprint or name of the manufacturer that you could provide? I may be able to find this information out for you if I have those details.

Does savella contain salicylates. What about ibuprofen, flexeril, and hyoscyamine sulfate? My wife has a problem with salicylates. ## Unfortunately I can't look up each medication by name to find this out, but what I can provide is information regarding what products or foods generally contain salicylates, and based on this list you can single things out that may or may not be a problem. I was hopeful about Savella for depression and fibromyalgia, but every time I took the evening dose, I would wake up and have to vomit, it was rough. I stopped taking the evening dose and it has done nothing for me, but make me sick so we are switching to Brintellix - back to square one now. Have to get the depression under control and then deal with the pain. Fun, fun... ## While I understand that it can be quite frustrating, it makes sense to get the depression under control first, then to treat the pain. Depression has been proven to contribute to and/or cause pain, so if needs to be treat first, before your pain can be properly evaluated and treated. I'm on week 2 of Savella, not up to full dose yet, (50 mg 2x pd) I have diarreah every day, and am nauseous, and just want to eat constantly! I started the higher dose yesterday, and puked for 20 minutes after having flu like symptoms. I thought I was getting the flu, but felt a little better after throwing up, but was still nauseous all day. I have to take diarreah meds about every other day to keep it under control. I think my pain is a little better, but I can't afford any more weight gain. I'm starting to wonder if this isn't the med for me. ## Wow! Very sorry to read of what you are going through. My dr @time took me off lyrica. I didnt notice problems, aug. 2010 unexplained nausea weight loss. I didnt associate with Savella. 2013 diffrnt. Dr put back on lyrica & savella. Dr asked medid savella help i didnt know. I stopped it jun 2014 cold turkey no change told dr jan 2015. Take it i took 1 OMG throwing up sweating bullets didnt take again till this morning OMG AGAIN. ( I had gastric bypass in 1988) so i toss up DROOL MUCUS FOAM i call it "DRY HEAVES" IM WEAK for HOURS.

Constipation is a known side effect of this medication, along with nausea, headache and insomnia. Have you tried any remedies? I am starting to wean off of Savella tomorrow. The side effects are just more than I can stand. I've been on it for over six months and I have heard a few horror stories. I'm sacred it may be hard for me to come off. I'm kinda scared. Any one know about this? ## Hi Karen, You seem to be doing the right thing. Usually for drugs like this the safest way to stop taking them is to tapper off them, if possible. Some medications can be taken in fractions (actually cut into pieces) and these smaller pieces can be taken in place of the regular dose for a period of several weeks until the body is no longer dependent upon them. The doctor recently changed my medicine from Cymbalta to Savella. Savella worked for the pain from fibromyalgia but the excessive sweating, constantly feeling drunk, and horrific nightmares has caused my doctor to change the meds again. I take Savella and Prednisone daily. Any problem with that? ## There are no interactions that I can find listed between using the two of them together, but you should check with your doctor, or pharmacist to be certain. Were they both prescribed by the same doctor?

I have been taking Savella for a week. I have celiac disease and have all the syptoms of ingesting glyten. Does Savella contain gluten? I was leary to try Savella since I had such a bad experience both while taking Cymlata and terrible withdrawal from it. The side effects from the Savella were terrible but I continued it for 8 weeks until I started having heart palpitations and chest pain. I have been off of it now for almost 2 weeks and I am experiencing more muslce aches and pains than I had prior to the drug. I have read where some people suffered from severe withdrawal from the Savella. Has anyone else out there felt there muscle pain actually got worse if you stopped the drug.
