Can Rythmol be transfered through seman and cause any side effects? ## Hello, Laura! How are you? No, you'll not be exposed to the mediations that a man is taking in such a manner. Any trace amounts that might carry through to his semen would be far too small to have an effect on anyone else. The FDA classifies this an anti-arrhythmic that's used to treat illnesses associated with rapid heart beat and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, metallic taste and GI upset. If you had a bad reaction to sperm, you may have a sperm allergy or be allergic to a protein produced by the specific man in question. What types of symptoms did you experience?

My mother has a pacemaker but was never taken off Rythmol... We were wondering why she still should take Rythmol? ## It contains the active ingredient Propafenone, which is used to help prevent cardiac arrhythmia, and she should take it as long as her doctor deems it appropriate for her to do so. The pacemaker cannot do everything, so she could still be at risk, if she stops the medication. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, increased urination, lowered heart rate, headache, and hypotension. Is she on any other medications? Why was the pacemaker implanted? At this time, even with the pacemaker, it is very important to keep her cardiac rhythm under control. In most cases, it takes multiple methods to help prolong someone's life, and to pro...

I've seen 2 people recently, in the ER for psych evals, who have had urine drug screens show positive for both PCP and Methadone (neither uses either drug). One is a 33yoF, the other is 81yoM. The only common factor I've found so far is that they both take Rhythmol. Anyone ever heard of this? ## I just found this question because my mom (75yoF) just showed positive for PCP and methadone in a urine drug screen. She also takes Rythmol (has for many years), but has recently developed psychiatric symptoms. Was there ever any follow-up on this? If the original poster sees this, I would love to find out more. ## Yours is the first response I've had and I still haven't found any other related info anywhere. Just today, I sent a question to the manufacturer about this. I'll ...
