My job requires my presence, during 3-6 month/year- I'm living in Swiss, where i take Ritalin 30 mg LA, prescribed by ny Doc. There is a solution to get: or something safe to by there, Or i can take with me what i need (1 x 100 pls.), from Swiss? with a prenscription? Thanks a lot. Alf11 ## Does Ritalin LA 30 mg capsules come in white/tourquise? If not, does anyone know what this pill is in mgs. It has an imprint 120 120? ## @Alfcat65, With your prescription in hand, you should be able to take the medication you need through the airports without worrying. I would however suggest keeping the prescription in the same bag as the medication just to play it safe. Maybe even contact the airport ahead of time to be sure you don't have any problems with security when you arrive. They sh...

I am wondering what mg this is? ## Hi peeps, I was put on Ritalin LA which is supposed to last for 8 hours. It doesn't feel like it to me as I can't focus about 4 hours after taking it. Please advise. My grandson is 9 years old and has been diagnosed with ADHD. He's on ritalin but his parents only give it to him when he's in school. Should they keep him on it year-round? He is not controllable when he's not taking it. ## These medications really do work best, when taken continuously, as prescribed. However, the final decision on that is up to the parents and the child's doctor. Have they said why they don't give it to him, when he isn't in school? They may just want to avoid some of the possible side effects, such as the anorexia and insomnia that it can cause. ## I was just put on ritalin for lack of motivation and depression. I also take xanax, zoloft and zyprexa. What is the difference between adderall and ritalin?

I was told by my pharmacist today that brand name (Novartis)-ritalin 20 mg tablets sr (sustained-release), have been discontinued. I cannot find anything on the internet to confirm this. He filled one-third of the prescription and said to contact the doctor to decide what to do. He said ritalin capsules, 20 mg la (long-acting) is still available from novartis. Has anyone out there had any similar difficulties? This may cause problems with my insurance plan...or delays. And I don't have transportation to go from pharmacy to pharmacy looking for ritalin tabs 20 mg sr. Would appreciate any feedback. Thank you in advance. ## Sunday night, and my Rite Aid pharmacist called to tell me the same thing. He said any pharmacy (Rite Aid, Walmart and more) that orders their pills from McKesson w...

what do the numbers mean imprinted on the tablet? I take 20 mg 3xday of ritalin slow release. just wondering what those numbers indicate? ## The numbers on tablets provide a unique imprint code that enables the medication to be identified in case of emergency. When looking up the imprint code in the databases, it needs to be able to tell you what the active ingredient is in them, what the dosage is and who the manufacturer is. That way if, for instance, someone is found unconscious with loose pills laying beside them, someone can check to see what they are and they would have a better idea of the possible treatments necessary for a reaction to the medication, or for an overdose. This also means that if there is a recall, only the specific pills involved have to be pulled from the pharma...

show all forms of ritalin pictures of different capsule shape ritalin? ## Since Ritalin is available as both a name brand and generic, there are far too many on the market for me to be able to post images and descriptions of all of them. For instance, the name brand Ritalin LA, which is capsule shaped has different markings, depending on the dosage, here's a description of those: Yellow, capsule shaped, marked with NVR R30, 30mgs. White, capsule shaped, marked with NVR R20, 20mgs. Brown, capsule shaped, marked with NVR R40, 40mgs. White/Brown, capsule shaped, marked with NVR R10, 10mgs. And that is just the name brand Ritalin LA. Are there any markings on the one you are questioning? If it doesn't match any of these, please post back and I will gladly check for you. ## This is a...

I was just given Ritalin to take for concentration and depression. Does anyone take it for that? Has anyone had success with this medication? What about bad side effects? ## Hello, Candy! How are you? Ritalin is a psychostimulant that can be used to help with concentration, it's most commonly used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy. Sometimes they do help people with some types of depression, but they generally aren't the first treatment choice for it. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness, headache, anorexia and insomnia. Is there anything else I can help with? ## Thank you for helping me understand what Ritalin is. I am very anxious about taking a new medication in this class, but my concentration, lack of motivation, depression, etc. has not been helped. I have Treatment Resis...

white round scored one one side. Other side has large muti letter Cc as like a symbol ## Did you mean a GG imprint? Yes, there are Methylphenidate tablets with the GG logo on them, it's a generic for Ritalin that's manufactured by Sandoz. However, there should be additional numbers and it's only by knowing those that I would be able to tell you definitively what your tablets contain. Can you please post back with more information?

Hi, Can I open the Ritalin LA 20mg capsule and dissolve the little white balls in hot chocolate or coffee? My son just can't swallow the capsule. Your help would be much appreciated. Please reply. {edited for privacy}. ## Hello, Shelly! How are you? No, you can't dissolve them, because the LA means that this is a time released medication and doing so could cause him to get too much at once, which may result in a dangerous overdose. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, weight loss and insomnia. However, the medication guide does say that they can be sprinkled over something such as apple sauce and swallowed that way, so that should be fine, if his doctor approves. Is there anyth...

Why does my blue Ritalin 10mg tablet turn my mouth blue when I take it? It stains my fingers, teeth & tongue. Why is that? ## Can you please answer a few more questions for clarification - Are you taking the actual brand Ritalin, or its generic equivalent? Regardless, can you please check your prescription label and try to post the NDC code so that it could be possible to check the inactive ingredients listed for that specific version? The reason I ask, is because in checking the NDC database for Ritalin 10 mg, what comes up is a greenish pill with the inscription CIBA on one side, and the number 3 on the other (NDC Code 0078-0440). Just want to make sure that we're talking about the same pill here. Lastly, if I may ask, is this your first Ritalin prescription? Or, if you have b...

I have been on Adderall 30 mg BID for years but can only take the COR generic and in my area all we have is Barr. I had a very bad emotional recation to it. My doctor switched me last month to Ritalin 20mg BID. I feel tired and like I am on Xanax all the time. So now he is going to switch me to Dexedrine. I am so fustrated because my Adderall work perfect. Has anyone been in this situation or can let me know if Dexedrine is more like my adderall then the Ritalin???? ## Did you try asking a pharmacy to order the one manufactured by Core for you? They can usually do so, but your insurance will only pay the cheapest generic price, so if it costs $10 more, then you would have to pay the additional $10. Learn more Adderall details here. Rather than play the medication guessing game, that wou...

Hello, I have ADHD and I've been taking Ritalin for a year now. It worked fine for more than nine months, increasing my memory dramatically, making me remember almost every word from the books I've read up until now. It was surprising how things just leaped up into my mind without any effort whatsoever. While doing something, I was always sure my memory would help me continue the best way possible, because it seemed as if I had knowledge about everything due to the fact that everything I knew was so easily recollected. However, during the last two months, I see no memory improvement when I take them. Yes, they increase my motivation still, but not my concentration or my memory anymore. Also, the side-effects have become much worse, as well as the comedowns. Is there something I ...

I have been using the Ritalin manufacturer Watson but recently i filled it at a different pharmacy and was given Ritalin but the manufacturer was Qualitest and i do have good insurance. ## Hello, Julia! How are you? When a medication is available as a generic, it is usually manufactured by several different companies, it creates market competition to help keep prices down, so there is no difference, except for the fact that your new pharmacy carries one that's made by a different company. It has nothing to do with how good your insurance is, or etc. Under current U.S. laws, to try to lower costs, they are required to fill your prescription with a generic, unless your doctor specifies otherwise, or you are paying cash and don't want a generic, and then, when a generic is used, yo...

Need a Dr who prescribes Ritilan in Tulsa OK.. ## Due to the new regulations that were put in place last year, if you require such a medication on a long-term ongoing basis, you'll need to see a specialist. Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to someone? If so, that would most likely be the fastest way to find the help you need. Ritalin carries the risk of being habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, irritability, anorexia and insomnia. Can anyone recommend a good doctor in that area? ## I do not know where the idea is coming from that you have to see a specialist to be treated for ADHD or chronic pain, but it is not true. There may not be a lot of PCP's who will do it, but there are some out there. If there is a ADHD group ...

Hi! I've been using vyvanse for about 5 months now, and i'm pretty sure i reached some level of dependence. when i'm off i don't crave for it nor i think it changes my mood (maybe cause i'm also on a mood-stabilizer med), but when i stop taking vyvanse i have absolutely no energy. i'm on vacation now and my doctor is not prescribing it to me during this time, but i want to enjoy my free time, go out and do fun things but i have no energy so i can't really enjoy anything i'm doing. coffee and red bull has no effect on me anymore. i wonder if anyone ever went through it and how long did it take for you to go back to normal? i have 2 ritalin prescriptions and i might just buy it cause i really don't wanna spend my vacations like that.

Hi. my friend has Add, legitimately, however he has doctor shopped sort of...one doc SWIM gets prescribed adderall, the other ritalin....in average dosages. he see the docs about two weeks from one another. He sees each once a month. He lives in NY and there is this new law I-Stop which makes it mandatory for psychiatrists to consult the prescription monitoring database before prescribing controlled substances starting August 27, 20113. He plans on dropping one doc and just seeing one for ritalin and taking it as prescribed. If he stops doctor shopping now do you think he will be okay? Doyou think his main doc will still prescribe me ritalin once August comes and she checks the system if he gets his act straight starting now? For March, April, May, June, July and August he will have one...
