I have no copper level and my white blood platelets count is 38. I take one packet of Prevalite (Cholestyramine) in the morning. Does anyone else have the same problem? ## Were these conditions present before you started taking the Prevalite, or did they only appear after you started taking it? It is most commonly used to help lower cholesterol and to treat itching in people that produce too much bile acid. The NIH warns that letting it sit in your mouth for too long can cause dental damage. ## This is a condition I got after 8 years taking the medicine. I have been going to an infusion center for 18 copper infusions. Dr. Can't figure out what is wrong. Probably a bone marrow test will be ordered up.Not looking forward to that. Prevalite powder is almost impossible for me to swallow. I have tried mixing with water, applesauce and pineapple juice and follow with lots of water. I am wondering if it comes in capsule form; if not, could it be put into a capsule and still have the same effects? I am 64 years old and have had issues with diarrhea for as long as I can remember and the situation has worsened since gall bladder removal two years ago. Also, flares up during periods of extreme stress. I was hoping the Prevalite would be an answer to my prayers but I can hardly take it without vomiting. I appreciate your feedback until I am able to discuss different options with my doctor.
