I have been put on Augmentin, Klarithran 500mg for a ten day period and have to take them twice a day. Was also give Prednisone 5mg (starting with 8 tabs per day). I accidently took them twice a day. Feeling nauseous, very dizzy and fainted this morning and seemed to have a mild seizure. Could this be from the Prednisone or the antibiotics? ## Hello, Jo! How are you doing, now? Has there been any change? It is difficult to say for sure which one cause it, since it is a possibility from all 3 of them, according to the NIH. However, it is a situation that could become dangerous, if left unchecked, so you need to contact your doctor immediately, or seek emergency medical attention.

I was prescribed a 40 mg dosepak and tapered over the course of 7 days for dermatitis. At day 5 it was clear that the dosage was too low and it was failing. I was then prescribed a 60 mg tapering dose that was 60, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10, 10. On day 5 I had a violent gastric reaction to the dose so I discontinued at that point leaving the last two 10, 10 doses. About 36 hours later I started to express symptoms of prednisolone withdrawal, which makes sense as it takes about that long for it to purge from a body. Symptoms were right down the check list. Severe drowsiness, aches, pains, mild fever, rash on forearms, acne forming on my back. Did some research but could find little guidance on how to proceed for reactions to short term dose withdrawal. Should I just ride it out? Some seemed to s...

I'm a generally healthy male of 58. Had heavy bronchitic asthma all my life. Till 30th year I regularly had tapered courses of prednisone. After that it went so well that I, except once in the few years, can life my life well with just spiriva and seretide. But then again I feel I live up to, say, 75 % of my optimum this way. Since a few months I add, on a weekly basis, one day 20 mg, next 10 mg, next 5 mg prednisone and I'm near the 100% that way. Would this use be considered a form of long time use, with the well known dangers of (creeping) side-effects (I don't notice any, actually) or as such a low dose/such a mild regiment that there's no harm to be expected? Thanks for any reaction! ## Hello, Turing! How are you? Yes, even at a low dose that's used occasionally...

Hey, I am having a horrible bout of tonsillitis with bad ear and throat pain. My doctor initially prescribed amoxicillin 3 days ago but pain still persisted, I went back today and got 50mg prednisone daily for 5 days plus a 10 day course of cephalexin. Is 50mg too much over a 5 day period. With previous bouts I was prescribed 10 mg twice daily for 2-4 days with no side effects. I took my first dose after filling the prescription at around 2 PM and am feeling mild discomfort in my muscles and can't seem to sleep. Is this dose to heavy? The pain in ear and throat have subsided which is great but worried about prednisone side effects. Thoughts? ## Hi Kelly, Based on my research, some of the side effects of this medication include: insomnia, sever joint pain, leg pain/cramping, and more...

I was prescribed prednisone for a bad allergic reaction. My rash cleared, and It immediately had the side benefit of clearing up existing acne inflammation within one day. It was pretty incredible, as I've been struggling with mild/moderate acne for ages. However, reading Prednisone reviews, I'm getting very concerned that once I stop the prednisone (I'm tapering down), my acne will flare up worse than before. I was wondering if there is anyone who has the positive side affect of clearing up acne, without it returning. I am actually only looking to hear those stories with positive acne outcome - I have read dozens and dozens account of people that didnt stay clear - so to ease my fear and help me stay positive, please share if your inflammation didn't return as bad as befor

I am a 30 year old female and in the beginning of March 2013 I got terribly sick with some sort of cold paired with a severe sinus infection. I was prescribed Methylprednisolone 4mg dose pack. I completed that with only minor side effects however it didn't really work and I was back at the doctor a mere week later feeling just as bad. I was then prescribed Prednisone 20mg tablets, taking 3 daily for 5 days. It helped my symptoms and I felt better. However, my last dose was Sunday 3/17/2013 and today is Wednesday 3/20/2013 and I am feeling incredibly strange. I feel weak, tired, irritable, depressed, dizzy and light-headed at times, off balance and I am getting mild headaches. I'm also moody and have a short temper. From looking online it looks like these are some of the devastat...

Learn more Betaprofen details here. Learn more Prednisone details here. The Ibuprofen is pretty mild, however, and there should be something else available that you can try. Have you asked your doctor about it?

I have ben using Omnacortil 10 (O 10), one tab daily for 14 months for RA Factor + with ANTI CCP rate-200. After stopping , I feel no appetite, loss of weight, loss of HB percentage etc and mild fever through out the day. As soon as I again start taking O 10, all my problem vanished. What will be the harm if I continue this life long? I am now 55 years. ## Omnactoril contains the active ingredient Prednisolone, which is a steroid class medication and yes, there can be some risks associated with long term use of it. Such risks may include developing fluid retention and edema, which may lead to congestive heart failure, as well as a compromised immune system. Learn more Omnacortil details here. What you really need to do is discuss it with your doctor, so they can help you decide if the p...

I'm a 59 year old female, diagnosed with Behcet's Disease and I use Prednisone for treatment for my weekly flares. The Prednisone is hard on my bones and has caused me to get osteoporosis in my hips. I had my first infusion of Zometa six days ago. I thought I was going to die from the side effects. I had 103 degree fever for five days, deep bone pain everywhere, muscle pain, flu like symptoms, migraine headache, burning eyes, pale skin, restlessness, and no appetite. Today six days later I'm still fatigued, pale, mild bone pain, mild muscle pain and no appetite. I reported these side effects to my doctor. His nurse suggested I maybe try Prolia injection in six months instead. I found this web site and was reading everything about Prolia and the side effects, they sound exact...

Hello all, I am here to share my story and help raise awareness of some of the side effects that can occur, even on lower doses of Prednisone. Physicians are to quick to hand out these powerful drugs and in most cases leave their patients in the dark, regarding what can occur, both mentally and physically. I have made it my mission in life to spread the word. Here is my story. I suffer from Inflammatory Bowel Disease and my GI wanted me to try taking a lower dose of Prednisone, 10mg daily, until we could get the mild flare I had been having under control. I had never had steroids before and did not question him. It was his intention to have me take them long term to see if it could keep my disease in remission since no other medication had worked. I am thankful, however, that he started...

Found this big light blue capsule with G M and a band in between the letters which are black even the band, it has beads inside it ## Based on the description provided, I found your pill to be Apriso (0.375 g); a trade name for the generic Mesalamine. This is an anti-inflammatory drug used to treat inflammation of the digestive tract ulcerative colitis and mild-to-moderate Crohn's disease. Mesalazine is a bowel-specific aminosalicylate drug that acts locally in the gut and has its predominant actions there, thereby having few systemic side effects. I have been taking the Gabapentin for three months now and initially I saw a great improvement, but not as much anymore. I have noticed if I do not have anything in my stomach when I take them that I feel even worse - dizzy, nauseous, and confused - basically drunk without any of the good feelings of being drunk LOL. But I have also noticed this feeling mildly even when I do have food in my stomach when taking them. This makes driving at all for more than a very short distance unnerving. I am not sure if anything can be done about this or if perhaps I should try a different medication? I am also curious if I can exercise while taking this medication. Is light weight training and cardio okay? My concern is the loss of balance issue at times that I cannot predict at all. I can just see my...
