Lovallo is prescribed for lowering LDLs is Pivasta its equivalent? ## Pivasta (Pitavastatin) is used together with lifestyle changes (diet, weight-loss, exercise) to reduce the amount of fatty substances in your blood such as low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol ('bad cholesterol') and to increase the amount of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol ('good cholesterol'). I have not found specific details about Lovallo in regards to comparing the two drugs, so I'm unable to tell you if these two drugs are "equivalent" in that sense; but according to your description, both drugs do serve the same purpose. I hope this helps!

is there a generic pill for livalo? ## Information I've gathered states the following: A generic version of Livalo (pitavastatin) is not available. This medication is protected by patents and exclusivity rights that prevent a generic version of the drug from being manufactured in the United States. The earliest predictable date that a generic Livalo product could become available is in May or June 2015, after the first patent expires. NOTE: Pitavastatin is the active ingredient in Livalo, but it is not a generic version of it. Once the drug goes off-patent, there may be several companies that manufacture a generic Livalo drug. I hope this information helps!

Evista is prescribed for osteoporisis is Pivasta its equivalent? ## Hi Stephen, The general answer to your question is no, as Pivasta is a completely different drug than Evista. However I did locate one article suggesting that Pivasta's uses in hypercholesterolemia may have a beneficial effect on those with osteoporosis: mendeley.com/research/shortterm-effects-pitavastatin-biochemical-markers-bone-turnover-patients-hypercholesterolemia I would not however consider Pivasta as an alternative option for Evista (at least until further studies have been established). Evista (Raloxifene) is indicated for the treatment and prevention of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women. Pivasta (Pitavastatin) is used together with lifestyle changes (diet, weight-loss, exercise) to reduce the amount of ...
