Does Phenergan with codeine contain any form of soy as an inactive ingredient? ## Hi Linda, Based on my research, Phenergan + Codeine (manufactured by Actavis) does not appear to contain any type of soy or soy derivatives. So you should be fine in that regard. For your own verification, this particular medication contains the following list of inactive ingredients: D&C Red #33, FD&C Blue #1, Citric acid, corn syrup, flavor, propylene glycol, saccharin sodium, propylparaben, methylparaben, sodium benzoate, sodium citrate, and purified water. I had been consuming 4 bottles of cough syrups 100 ml a day with 10 phenargans, 4 nitrosuns, 4 proxyvon. I want to quit this but unable to get proper medication. Been taking tylenol #4 for over 4years. Prior taking tylenol #3 for 11 years, my Dr switched to tylenol #4 due to increased pain level. I take it responsibly, 1/4th at a time with 1/4 Phenergan. Have gone 60 Days aaa self test, no addiction. Must be a rarity. Never have had withdrawal from anything, not even Klonopin taken hrs apart of #4's. ## Not everyone becomes addicted to any given substance, some people are just not prone to it. The main question is whether or not the medication is working for you. The FDA warns that this medication may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with?

What pharmacy companies manufactured and produced promethazine codeine? Is Watson one of them? ## @bankrolled, From what I could gather, promethazine codeine (phenergan w/ codeine) is or was being manufactured by the following pharmaceutical companies: Alpharma Actavis (NDC is 0472-1627-16) Tris Pharma Inc. (NDC is 27808-065-01) Sun Pharma Inc. (NDC is 57664-185-31) Qualitest Pharma (NDC is 0603-1585-58) Hi-Tech Pharma I didn't see Watson listed, but Actavis bought them out a long time ago, so I'd imagine that their version ended up taking Watson's place. Apparently they came in one pint (473 mL) bottles. I hope this info helps!

Does it have an expectorant in it ## Hi Jim, Neither medication is actually in the drug class of expectorants like guaifenesin. However I have seen other brand names of promethazine + codeine (such as "Phenergan Expectorant/Codeine" manufactured by Wyeth) being marketed as an expectorant. So I'm led to believe that promethazine does exhibit such effects regardless of its classification. Hope this helps!

How can I locate pharmacies in the Los Angeles, Southern California area that carries Phenergan (Promethazine) with Codeine Cough Syrup manufactured by Actavis? ## There is really no way of knowing which pharmacy is going to have any particular manufacturer's product in stock, because when it comes to generics, it can vary, depending on what company was offering the cheapest price, when they had to restock their supply. The only thing I can really suggest is going to the pharmacies and asking them. Since this contains Codeine, you'll likely not get an accurate answer, if you just call and ask. nausea ## I need to know if fennigen contains codeine in it ## Did you possibly mean Phenergan, which contains the active ingredient Promethazine, which is an antihistamine that is most commonly used to treat, or prevent nausea, and vomiting. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, drowsiness, and dry mouth. Can you please post back and clarify?

My cat started hiding and howling when I picked her up. So took her to vet Friday. Vet couldn't find anything wrong and prescribed Amoxidrops for a puncture we couldn't see yet. Today, Saturday I found the puncture in her left hind quarter. I put Ichthammol ointment hoping it will start draining. Can I give her a drop of my hydromet syrup 5-1 5/5 for the pain or my husband's phenergan/codeine syrup until we return to the vet on Monday? ## I have a 2 year old cat that has a bacterial infection. It treats allergy symptoms such as itching, runny nose, sneezing, itchy or watery eyes, hives, and itchy skin rashes. From what I've read, Phenergan itself shouldn't show up on a drug test, but there is a variety of Phenergan + codeine that could.
