Can Orencia possibly cause chest pain and shortness of breath? ## It sounds like you may be having an allergic reaction to this drug or COPD: "Allergic reactions can happen on the day of treatment or the day after receiving ORENCIA. Tell your doctor or get emergency medical help right away if you have hives, swollen face, eyelids, lips, tongue, throat or trouble breathing." [1] I would suggest letting your doctor know ASAP. are there any new and better medicines for the treatment of R.A which can work without taking steroids alongwith? ## I was diagnosed over 20 yrs ago with RA. I was on methotrexate, prednisone, & then various biologic drugs. I had to keep changing the biologics as they would eventually quit working. I used Embrel, Humira, Orencia, & Remicade with Remicade working longest. After it failed, i was having to stay in bed 2-3 days/week. Then i got approved by my insurance (Medicade) for Xeljanz. Pill taken once or twice daily depending on strength of pill. In 2 weeks i started going to the gym 5 days/week AND, more important to me, i was able to get off prednisone after 15 yrs on it! It is expensive, but if you have insurance, i can't say enough about how well it has worked for me ...
