My doctor prescribed nystatin and triamcinolone acetonide to be used for yeast infection in my nose. Is it safe to use the cream inside the nostrils. ## Hello, Red! How are you? You should follow your doctor's instructions. Placing a thin later of it inside the nose should allow it to work topically and not result in your actually ingesting it, unless you use far too much. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including skin irritation, rash, redness and dryness. Is there anything else I can help with?

External Genital Cream for Dryness ## I have an irritation on my bottom around my vaginal area and back onto the rectal area. I have a RX that my doctor gave me to put on my bottom a few months ago, but I'm not sure it is the same problem that I had before The RX is NYSTAT/TRIAM CREAM. Is this the right thing to put on it? ## It is really best not to use anything, without your doctor's approval. Using the wrong treatment could actually worsen some problems. It doesn't specify whether or not it can be used to treat anything else outside of that, but who knows, it may be worth a shot if it's the only thing you have at your disposal. The dosage and administration guidelines note the following: "Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide Cream is usually applied to the affected areas twice daily in the morning and evening by gently and thoroughly massaging the preparation into the skin. I was prescribed Nystatin triamcinolone acetonide cream usp for inflamation of my cervix but I dont know if i am supposed to put the cream inside of my vagina? It says for external use only? ## Hi Jess, It may be a good idea to double check with your prescribing doctor first, but from my understanding - when a medication says "for external use only", I get the sense that they use that as a warning to not 'orally' ingest it. However, my personal opinion is that it should be ok to apply on the outer areas of the cervix and not directly inside, unless specifically instructed otherwise by your doctor. I think that would probably be the best way to play it safe until further notice if I were in such a position. Does anyone else have thoughts on this?

Can nystatin and triamcinolone acetomide cream USP be used to reduce acne? ## Unless you were told to specifically use it to treat acne, I would be reluctant to do so, since there may be something in the inactive ingredients that could cause it to worsen. I AM PREGNANT. AM I ALLOWED TO USE DERMACOMBIN CREAM ON MY FACE ## What has your doctor advised? Dermacombin cream contains Nystatin, Neomycin, Ganicidin and Triamcinolone and it is actually advised that it not be used extensively in pregnancy, because there is some risk of it causing some complications. If you need something for a fungal, or bacterial infection of the face, your doctor should be able to advise you on what is safest for you to use.

I just can't remember what condition it was prescribed for. I have redness around my scrotum and upper inner thighs. Is it for that condition? ## Have you asked your doctor? A doctor prescribed Dermacombin for what she said was a minor infection on my labia. I had no symptoms before, but I've just used it one day and now feel very raw and sore. Anytime you have odd or unusual effects from any type of medication, that you weren't warned about as being normal, you should contact your doctor or pharmacist and get their advice. Dermacombin contains the active ingredients Nystatin, Neomycin, Gramicidin and Triamcinolone, it is basically a combination cream to treat topical skin infections. However, any one of the active ingredients or even something considered inactive could be causing your problem, or it could be the infection itself.
