Nitric Oxide Drug Index

Nitric oxide (nitrogen oxide[6] or nitrogen monoxide) is a colorless gas with the formula NO. It is one of the principal oxides of nitrogen. Nitric oxide is a free radical: it has an unpaired electron, which is sometimes denoted by a dot in its chemical formula (•N=O or •NO). Nitric oxide is also a heteronuclear diatomic molecule, a class of molecules whose study spawned early modern theories of chemical bonding.[7] An important intermediate in in...

This question is about the effect of peroxynitrite on cell death. Increasing PN production, decreases NO production (NO is scavenged in the process of creating ONOO-). However, the concern/thing that we didn’t understand was why PN doesn’t instantly kill cells since it’s a more potent radical. Sure, you decrease NO, so maybe you get less death that way, but you’re replacing it with something that seems like it would be even worse. So, why do you at least initially get less cell death? ## Interesting observation here. Perhaps the naturally occuring presence and activities of antioxidant enzymes and their roles in PN-induced cell death (both apoptotic and necrotic), is a major determining factor of its cardiotoxic...

Prosynap Lubeluzole

Lubeluzole (Prosynap) is a drug which acts as an indirect NMDA antagonist. It inhibits the release of glutamate, inhibits nitric oxide synthesis, and blocks calcium and sodium gated ion channels.[1] It has neuroprotective effects particularly in hypoxic conditions,[2][3] and was developed for the treatment of stroke.[4] Trials showed it to be safe, effective and well tolerated at low doses, but unfortunately higher doses produced...

side effect information ## Nebivolol is the generic name for Bystolic; Nebivolol is a receptor blocker with nitric oxide-potentiating vasodilatory effects, used in treatment of hypertension and, in Europe, also for left ventricular failure. Research I have gathered states that several studies have suggested that Nebivolol has reduced typical beta-blocker-related side effects, such as fatigue, clinical depression, bradycardia, or impotence. my son bought a body builder pill, but were different from other peoples he took for awhile. It is white with the number az 266. was suppose to be nitric oxide. the brand name was six star muscle builder. worried it harmed body. nobody can give answers not even the manufacter. thanks sincerly linda ## AZ 266 is Carisoprodol 350 mg, which is a centrally-acting skeletal muscle relaxant whose active metabolite is meprobamate. Although several case reports have shown that carisoprodol has abuse potential both by itself and as a potentiator of hydrocodone, dihydrocodeine, codeine and similar drugs, it continues to be widely prescribed in North America. Pimagedine Drug Index

Pimagedine, also known as aminoguanidine, is an investigational drug for the treatment of diabetic nephropathy that is no longer under development as a drug.[1] Pimagedine functions as an inhibitor of diamine oxidase and nitric oxide synthase. It acts to reduce levels of advanced glycation end products (AGEs) through interacting with 3-deoxyglucosone, glyoxal, methylglyoxal, and related dicarbonyls. These reactive species are converted to less reactive heterocycles by this co...

Can ic omeprazole cause one's blood pressure to increase dramatically? ## Omeprazole is a Proton Pump Inhibitor, used to help reduce the amount of acid your stomach produces to treat conditions such as heartburn and GERD. That said, there is nothing listed about it doing this. It is always a possiblity, though, medications do affect everyone differently, but there is no way to say for sure. Have you asked your doctor about it? ## Theoretically, it definitely could. You see, nitric oxide is a substance that the body creates and that regulates blood pressure. It can only be created in the presence of an acidic stomach. Reducing acid in the stomach definitely decreases nitric oxide production and, therefore, can increase blood pressure. See this page to see how reducing acid in the sto...

pill. blood thinning medication ## I ned to know how is grendis work, cause my father use grendis for thinning his bloods, he got a cardiovasculer problem and his doctor give him grendis ## Sorry, this isn't available in the US and I cannot find any information on it. ## Grendis works in 3 ways, 1 just like aspirin, it inhibit thromboxane A2 thereby inhibiting aggregation or clumping of platelet, 2; just like cilostazol, it inhibit phosphodiesterase, thereby preserving cyclic AMP which is an anti aggregant also. I also stimulate human nitric oxide in human neutrofil thereby increasing it's antiinflammatory, vasodilatory and anti-aggregant effect. One good thing about triflusal is that, ublike aspirin, theres 50 % less incidence of bleeding due to preservation of prostacyclin, so...

Is concominent use of lisinopril contraindicated with nicorandil? ## I cannot post a definite answer for you whether Nicorandil and Lisinopril are contraindicated for one another because Nicorandil is not available in the USA. I will, however, summarize some details for you below, which may be of help. First, "Nicorandil acts by relaxing the smooth muscle of the blood vessels, especially those of the venous system. It does this through two methods. Firstly, by activating potassium channels, and secondly by donating nitric oxide to activate the enzyme guanylate cyclase." [1] There are a number of types of medication that can interact with Lisinopril. Those include: Diuretics, Nonsteroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs, Potassium Supplements, Potassium-Sparing Diuretics, and Lithium. [2...

I received the same. It was from HSI (Health Sciences Institute) in an ad for a "free" book titled Miracles From the Vault: Anthology of Underground Cures by Jenny Thompson. It was "free" with a newsletter subscription... The "infomercial" was vague about most of the "top seven" cures it supposedly detailed. H-86 was the first of them. It supposedly reduces (attacks) cancers but I cannot find any reference to it on the web other than questions. I've found many people on the web asking about this and the others (nitric oxide, policosanol, lion's mane mushroom) which are well known but no answers about the H-86. The closest thing I could find was a rabbit derived LHPP antibody but I think this is NOT the substance in question. ## i need daily health...

taking norvasc daily after 2 years I now have ED, thinking of using viagra. ## Have you discussed it with your doctor? Due to the way the Sildenafil in the Viagra works to improve blood flow, taking it with the Norvasc could actually cause severe hypotension. Therefore, you should really check with your doctor first, so they can base the decision on your current blood pressure levels and overall health. ## These medicine is safe for healthy hearts, but all men with coronary disease should take special precautions, plus some cannot rely on them under any circumstances. The issue is their impact on arteries. All arteries, not only those in your genitals, generate nitric oxide supplement, so any artery can widen as a result of Viagra, Levitra, or Cialis, causing blood pressure level to dro...
