There are some that are white and yellow, some that are all white and there are quite a few others, as well, since there are generics on the market. Can you please post back with more details?

Is there a harmful interaction between Mucinex D (Guaifenesin/Pseudoephedrine HCI) and HCTZ (hydrochlorothiazide). I take HCTZ for high blood pressure, but would like to take Mucinex D for nasal/sinus congestion. ## Hello, Art! How are you? What is your normal blood pressure level? The Pseudoephedrine can cause elevated heart rate and blood pressure, so it may not be safe for you to take it. Have you checked with your doctor to see what's safe for you? Are on any other medications?

my boyfriend bought coricidin hbp by mistake and really needs a decongestant. is it ok to give him mucinex with the coricidin hbp? ## Based on my research there are no drug interactions found between Coricidin HBP and Mucinex. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate. With that said, (because I am not a doctor) the most I can tell you is that from what I've read, these two medications are regarded as being safe to take together and shouldn't present any problems outside of the normal side effects associated with each medication. I hope this info helps to answer your question!

I’ve been taking Azithromycin for 5 days, for bronchitis, but it’s doing nothing for my cough. I’m up all night coughing. Can I take Mucinex daytime while taking this other medicine? ## I didn't find any problems or interactions listed, but it is always best to double check such information. And I agree, bronchitis is annoying, that cough is horrible. I ended up in the ER once with it, a couple years ago, the medication I was given there didn't work, so I had to go to my PCP and take even more medications, before it finally cleared up. Azithromycin can cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash, according to FDA reports. But, if there has been no improvement, at this point, you might need to try a different med...

Can I take Mucinex along with Tylenol & Amoxicillin / Clavulanate Potassium Tablets, USP 875 mg/125 mg? ## Hi Nancy, According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there are no interactions listed between Mucinex, Tylenol (acetaminophen) and Amoxicillin. While this doesn't necessarily mean no interactions exist, I personally haven't had any issues taking these together in the past. However, if in doubt, it may be a good idea to double check with your doctor first. I hope this helps!

May I take mucinex while I am currently taking lisinopril, hctz, metformin, and zocor? ## Hi Beth, From what I could gather, Mucinex does not have interactions with any of those medications. Oddly enough though, my findings state that there are potentially unsafe interactions between Hydrochlorothiazide/Lisinopril and Metformin. Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: "Before taking hydrochlorothiazide, tell your doctor if you also use Metformin. Hydrochlorothiazide can cause high blood sugar and interfere with glucose control. You may need a dose adjustment and you may need to check your blood sugar more often if you take both medications. Hydrochlorothiazide can also cause lactic acidosis while you are using Metformin. Symptoms of lactic acidosis include unusual m...

I'm sick and wanted to know if I can take mucinex fast max with my methadone, and if it is ok to do so? ## I didn't find any problems or interactions listed, but you should double check this information to be certain. The major issue I see could be due the combination worsening the side effects, so you may experience more nausea, dizziness and drowsiness. ## I'm on 100 mg of methadone and I'm sick and bought a box of expectorant mucus relief that says 400 mg of guaifenesin. Is it safe to take this medicine with methadone? ## NEVER, NEVER TAKE MUCINEX WITH METHADONE. Extreme hallucinations and paranoia result. Can I take Penicillin VK 500mg and Mucinex D along with my Methadone? I'm afraid it may cause breathing problems and would like some clarification. ## Hello, Michelle! How are you? I didn't find any interactions listed between the Penicillin and the Methadone, but there may be issues if you take the Mucinex D, since it contains Pseudoephedrine, which works like a stimulant and the Methadone is a depressant, so you should check with your doctor, before combining those. Penicillin is an antibiotic and according to the FDA, it may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. [1] Mucinex-D is listed as containing Guaifenesin and Pseudoephedrine, it is used to alleviate congestion. Typical side effects may include nausea, dizziness, in...

I have a head cold for which I'm taking Mucinex and Augmentin. Can I take Forskolin along with it? ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there are no interactions listed between Mucinex and Augmentin. However, when it comes to natural plant-derived OTC supplements such as Forskolin (coleonol) I'm afraid that Western medical literature doesn't cater to this category of medicine. If in doubt, I would encourage you to get in touch with a naturopathic/holistic physician who can make sense of its mechanism of action to verify Forskolin's safety in combination with these other pharmaceutical-based medications. It might also be best to just wait until you recover from that head cold so you don't have to worry about inte...

Can I take them all together? ## According to the University of Maryland Medical Center (umm.edu / drug interaction tool), there are no interactions listed between Methadone, Mucinex and Doxycycline. While this doesn't necessarily mean that no interactions exist, it is my hypothesis that this combination is generally regarded as safe. However, if you still have any doubts about your prescriptions, I'd encourage you to consult your prescribing doctor and/or a local pharmacist before moving forward with treatment. Hope this helps!

I have chest congestion and want to know which medication would work best for me. Promethazine vc syrup or mucinex ## Use Mucinex, don't use promethiazine it's not very safe with any continued use. It wouldn't help your congestion anyway, it's mainly for extreme nausea. ## (A second opinion): I would also recommend Mucinex for the same reason that Steve suggested. Also, you may want to consider cutting out any dairy products from your diet as they are mucous forming and can work against Mucinex in terms of clearing the congestion sooner rather than later. I hope this helps! ## Hello my 4yr old daughter is conjested real bad with nose running,Little fever, and her chest hurting..what medicine is good for her to take?

I've been sick and im on 100 mg of Methadone a day and I was wondering if it would be o.k. to take with Mucinex-DM with my methadone? ## Hi April, According to The University of Maryland's drug interaction tool, there aren't any interactions between Mucinex DM and Methadone. Based off this information alone, I don't see any reason why you wouldn't be able to take the two together. I've also never heard of anyone having issues using these substances coherently. But if still in doubt, I'd encourage you to cross reference additional interaction data and maybe even contact your doctor for a second opinion since this doesn't necessarily mean that no interactions exist.
