I have been taking mirapex for about 6 years for restless legs - just within the past week I was given samples of mirapex er - so far I have not been able to sleep for the second night in a row - legs are very jumpy ## Is it the same dosage as the one you have already been on? The ER stands for Extended Release, this means that the amount of medication in the tablet is slowly released over a certain period of time, rather than all at once. This means, that if they are the same dosage, you might not be getting enough of the medication, at once, to control your symptoms. Have you reported this to your doctor, yet? ## Mirapex ER is not approved for treatment of RLS. I would recommend calling your Dr and getting back on the regular Mirapex ## I had to change from mirapex .50 mg to extended ...

i took 5.25 of Mirapax er . will i be ok? ## Information I've gathered on Mirapex ER (Pramipexole) states that the maximum recommended dose is 4.5 mg per day. The efficacy of dosages beyond 4.5 mg/day has not been established nor studied in clinical trials. I wouldn't call 5.25 a serious overdose if you are still feeling alright. You may just be more prone to experiencing a higher level of side effects for the time being; but to play it safe I'd strongly recommend paying close attention to your upcoming doses and monitoring how you feel in case some undesirable side effects eventually do happen in subsequent high doses. If you are still worried, I would also suggest contacting your doctor for instructions on how to cope with the dosage. Unfortunately there is really no way a...

I want to know the benefit of mirapex-er compare to requil ## I am not certain the Mirapex ER or Requip necessarily have benefits over each other, the both belong to the same drug family and are used to treat the same things. Using one over the other is usually something a doctor decides according to their experience by discovering what works for certain patients and what doesn't. They may have instances where they find one causes less side effects than the other and etc. It is very hard to say. Common side effects to these can include: nausea, drowsiness, hallucinations and insomnia. Even had to go to the doctor because my hip pain was so ...

I was given this as Mirapex ER and I don't know if it is the right med. I have PD. ## Based on the description provided, I can confirm that this pill is in fact Mirapex (0.75 mg). However this is NOT noted in any of the drug databases to be the extended release version you had mentioned it to be. I take Oxycodone 5 mg 3 times daily , any better ideas? Is this addictive or will it harm me more? I have PAD and angio 2 times. Ache so bad I never sleep. Been on current med 2 years. ## Oxycodone is a narcotic opiate, so yes, it does have the potential of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, constipation and dry mouth. There are risks associated with taking any medication, there's no way to avoid that. It's really a matter of finding which one works best for you, without causing you a lot of problems or side effects. What other treatment options have you tried? ## See a Neurologist and IF your dx is RLS ASK about MIRAPEX OR MIRAPEX ER. Get off the opiates asap,

I take Mirapex ER 3.75 mg for Parkinson's Disease. I have had hypersexuality since I begin taking Mirapex almost 2 years ago. I would like to know how other PD patients that have experienced hypersexuality are managing this side effect. ## I have been taking Mirapex since 2008. I stopped taking it two weeks ago due to the compulsive behaviors that they caused. If you read the tiny small print on the RX sheet, it will say.....may cause compulsive gambling, sexual, drinking, or shopping behaviors. This drug has caused my to do crazy things the last couple of years. I have lost a huge amount of money at the casino or scratch ticket, had excessive amounts of alcohol and my sexual desires were out of my mind. I was in a very dark place. Thoughts of suicide even were in my thoughts a few ...

I took a drug test for a new job and was in shock to hear the doctor tell me I had taken a muscle relaxer or diazepine; which I had not. When I told him I had not he kept asking me "did I borrow any medicine from anyone" instead of trying to help me find the real problem that may have caused this error. I had taken over the counter Allergy Capsules Diphenhydramine HIC* Antihistamine, Multi-Symptom Allergy Relief *Acetaminophen* Phenylephrine HIC* Chlorpheniramine maleate, BC Arthritis, Tylenol Cold Multi-Sympton Severe, Benadryl*Diphenhydramine, and RX meds Losartan, Hydrocodine-APAP Lortab, Prilosec, Zocor, Fluoxetine, and Mirapex The so called doctor I spoke with on the phone was so rude and just kept trying to get me to say I had taken a "borrowed" medicine....never !...
