Mouthwash, mouth rinse, oral rinse, or mouth bath[1] is a liquid which is held in the mouth passively or swilled around the mouth by contraction of the perioral muscles and/or movement of the head, and may be gargled, where the head is tilted back and the liquid bubbled at the back of the mouth. Usually mouthwashes are antiseptic solutions intended to reduce the microbial load in the mouth, although other mouthwashes might be given for other reasons such as for their analgesic...

Do you sallow after swishing? ## I don't know exactly what's in this, because most of them are regional products and the ingredients are specific to the doctors and pharmacists of that area, however, no, they aren't usually swallowed. They are just swished in the mouth as directed and then spit out. Are there any other comments or questions?

I've heard that it can make your tonsils go numb... Rx #: 261758 Does anyone have more information about it? ## Miracle Mouthwash contains: Dexamethasone, Diphenhydramine, Nystatin, Tetracycline ## Miracle Mouthwash is actually just the name for a group of products that are regional and they may contain different ingredients, depending on what it is most commonly used to treat in any given area, or what a specific doctor asks that it contain. So, some might contain what Sal listed, but not all in every area will be identical. If you really want to know the specific ingredients and information on a product such as this, then you should ask the dispensing pharmacist.

my doctor gave me a prescription for miracle mouthwash, when I went to have it filled, it was almost $200.00 is this the usual price for this and does it really stop a chronic severe cough? ## Unfortunately, this is a regional product, not an actual regular prescription medication. These consist of a combination of certain medications that doctors in your area have found to help with certain conditions and local pharmacist know what they want put in them. However, that means that we have no information on what it contains, what it will help with and the pricing. Have you tried talking to your doctor or pharmacist about it? ## Yes. I talked to both, Doctor was astonished at the price of it. shows you that doctors have very little idea of the cost of medication they are writing prescripti...

where would we be able to purchase the miracle mouthwash ? We have a dental patient that could benefit from this mouthwash. Please respond. Thank you. ## These are usually regional products, meaning the formula can vary from area to area and there is no set one that is universal throughout the U.S. The way it usually works is that the local pharmacist know what is commonly used in them and a doctor, or dentist writes a prescription for it, so it does need a prescription and must be purchased from a pharmacy. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have recently been prescribed by my doctor a prescription for miracle mouthwash due to blister pockets and sores due to my lupus and it was very easily filled at Rite Aid pharmacy Hope this helps

salivary gland destroyed as a result of radiation and chemo therapy. How does one replace inability to produce saliva. Was told there is something called miracle mouthwash which may help. Not sure if it is a prescription or over the counter mouthwash. Any other suggestions as to how to replace saliva is needed. ## I know that there are artificial saliva products available just for such cases. They are also used by people who were in accidents that resulted in damage to the salivary glands. Some are available as a spray and some as drops. Your doctor should be able to prescribe it for you and most pharmacies carry it. The Miracle Mouthwash is a regional item, meaning that the name and ingredients can vary depending on where you live. It is another thing your doctor would have to prescrib...
