red and white capsule with; ep1 and 101 printed on both the red and white portions of the capsule. ## Midrin is a vasoconstrictor (shrinks the blood vessels) specifically in the brain for migraines, but has allegedly been blamed for cardiovascular problems, and even the generic form is not available to legal drugstores. I've sworn by this medicine for my migraines the past 30 years, and I'm pretty frightened by this news, because I carry a bottle with me everywhere I go, just in case a migraine strikes. The nasal and under-the-tongue migraine meds prescribed in the last 10 years give me heart palpitations, shortness of breath, etc., but the Midrin did NOT, so I've got to find something, or decide if this life is worth living without a medication that has helped me all of the...

I have used Midrin sometimes over the last 30 years for migraines. Then I could not find any. Midrin is the only thing that works for me. I had a severe migraine that lasted 10 days and I now have a blind spot where the flashing lights were for all that time. The eye doctor I saw 24 hours into this did not find anything serious, because the effect is in the part of the brain that processes vision. I finally found out about compounding pharmacies and my doctor wrote the prescription for the 3 ingredients: C-Acet 325mg/dichloralphena/isometh65mg I found a compounding pharmacy in my area. The prescription was faxed to them with my pharmacy insurance info. I picked it up the same day. My insurance covered it with a somewhat higher co-pay. Midrin has been made hard to get as it was not teste...

What is it prescribed for? I have low blood pressure and lightheadedness. Will it help? Local pharmacists don't have it. Where can I get it? ## Midrin is a combination drug containing Acetaminophen, Dichloralphenazone and isometheptene. It is most commonly prescribed to treat headaches. The reason your doctor probably prescribed it for you is the Isometheptene is vasoconstrictor, meaning it shrinks the blood vessels, so yes, it could help raise your blood pressure. As to where to get it, I can only suggest calling pharmacist in surrounding areas and seeing if any of them carry it or will order it in for you. ##

Now all of a sudden the pharmacies in my area (3 of them) are saying that they can't get any or it is on backorders for the past 3 months. Do they still make it? red capsule ## Midrin is a combination medication that contains Acetaminophen, Isometheptene and Dichloralphenazone, it is most commonly used to treat severe headaches and migraines. Learn more Midrin details here. Side effects may include nausea, dizziness and drowsiness. Are there any other questions or concerns? ## Can you get the drug without the Apap (acetamoniphen)? I can buy and add that in. I know I definitely need the sedative part of Midrin as without it (even with strong opioid pain meds) I cannot fall asleep thus cannot totally get rid of the migraine (lay down in a quiet, dark room with a bag of ice on my head after taking my pain meds and then need to sleep...without a sedative, it can take a very long time to sleep and thus I lose a lot of my life as I deal with chronic i...

Can I take these two with cozaar. Do they have serious side effects? ## Hi Susan, Based on my research there are no drug interactions found between any of the three medications you mentioned. This does not necessarily mean no interactions exist, but my sources state that every effort has been made to ensure that the information provided is accurate. There are however food related interactions with Cozaar. Information that I've gathered states the following: "GENERALLY AVOID: Moderate-to-high dietary intake of potassium, especially salt substitutes, may increase the risk of hyperkalemia in some patients who are using angiotensin II receptor blockers (ARBs). ARBs can promote hyperkalemia through inhibition of angiotensin II-induced aldosterone secretion. Patients with diabetes, he...

How many hours should I wait after taking midrin before I take gabapentin and tramadol? ## There is really no set time frame, but you should be aware that combining these medications that can cause depression of the central nervous system, could cause you to experience more nausea, dizziness, and drowsiness than usual. In some cases, especially if a person has underlying health conditions, the FDA warns that these issues could be fatal. Have they all been prescribed for you?

I am taking Tramadol. Is it safe to take this when I take Midrin for migraine headaches. ## I didn't find any interactions, or problems listed between the two medications, but you should always check such information to be safe. Learn more Tramadol details here. If you're relatively new to taking Tramadol, you should be made aware that it is derived from an opiate and can cause side effects that are similar to those of opiates, such as nausea, dizziness, drowsiness and constipation. Is there anything else I can help with? ## I have took Benadryl, Midrin 3 hrs ago, can I repeat? Any other suggestions? Headache unbearable??

I was taking Epidrin for my migraines and it helped. It was taken off the market along with Midrin. Is there anywhere I can get it? Does anyone know of a pharmacy that makes the compound? I only have a few left and I'm feeling desperate. ## There are some compounding pharmacies that have been making it, if your doctor orders it. Can you post back with, at least, your general location? Our site is open to users all over the world, so just as an example, I know of several compounding pharmacies here in the Seattle metro area, but that's really not going to help you if you're in Georgia. ## I live in New Jersey. A relative found a pharmacy that would make the compound, however, he wants over $130 for a thirty day supply! Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. ## I am afraid tha...
