Awhile back my wife was prescribed Estrg/Mtest 2.5/1.25mg. The pill the pharmacy gave was,as she describes, a light green capsule. The pharmacy where we had it filled couldn't fill it at one time saying they were having trouble with pharmaceutical company being able to fulfill orders. So we took her prescription to another pharmacy. Again she received a light green capsule as before. Later we received a call from our regular pharmacy that they were finally able to get things straightened out. When we went back to have it filled again the pill changed to a dark green in color. We also noticed on the bottle it read 1.25/2.5mg instead of 2.5/1.25mg. The pharmacy says its the same pill she's been taking. We had thought that with 2.5/1.25mg light green pill that she was taking a high...

If weight gain and larger breast are common why would my doctor give me this when I complained about my weight gain? The last thing I want is to gain even more weight. I was told I've gained the weight because my body is craving the estrogen. ## Because what they list as common side effects are still only experienced by a very small percentage of the people that have taken it. Additionally, this medication has actually been discontinued and you'll need to talk to your doctor about using an alternative hormonal therapy. Learn more Estrogen details here. Are there any other questions or comments? ## I am on estrogementest tab amn and was prescribed to me on Thursday July 19, 2012

I have been taking this TAB for 4-5 years-I understand from my OBGYN that it is a low dosage but my boobs have gotten bigger and I have gained weight- the pluses are it keeps me on an even keel- not anxious and more focused. How can I keep taking it for the positive effects but offset the weight gain and big boobs? ## Hi Alison, Unfortunately weight gain, and enlarged breasts are common side effects of this drug. If I were to suggest anything that would help counteract this, my first thought would be to stay on top of your eating habits. Incorporating a low fat diet would be ideal in my opinion. To put this into perspective, this would ideally be under 20 grams of fat per day. Which also means that you would need to increase either your carb and/or protein intake to help satiate you aft...

I had a hysterectomy and rectocyll and cystosill(sorry for the spellings) surgery about 8 weeks ago. I was taking a light green tablet and I was not having any trouble, now the refill is a small oblong dark green stamped 1490. I have been on this for about 2 and half weeks and I am experiencing some break through bleeding. Is this normal? ## If you had a full hysterectomy and are experiencing bleeding, you need to consult your doctor. Once you are past the point of being able to menstruate, bleeding should not occur, even from taking a medication and needs to be checked out by your doctor. Is there anything else I can help with?

Does estrogenmtest have testosterone ? ## Hi Shelly, To answer your question, yes, Methyltestosterone (found in estrogen mtest) is in fact a man-made form of testosterone. However, the combination of esterified estrogens + methyltestosterone can be used to treat a variety of symptoms associated with menopause (as a means of hormone replacement therapy). You can learn more about this medication on the page for Esterified Estrogens + Methyltestosterone Details I hope this info helps!
