Kestine Ebastine

Ebastine is a H1 antihistamine with low potential for causing drowsiness. It does not penetrate the blood–brain barrier to a significant amount and thus combines an effective block of the H1 receptor in peripheral tissue with a low incidence of central side effects, i.e. seldom causing sedation or drowsiness.[1][2][3] It was patented in 1983 by Almirall S.A and came into medical use in 1990.[4] The substance is often provi...

Hello! From the end of October till the beginning of March I suffer from sneezing, itchy eyes and irritating nose. I have these sneezing episodes so many times in a day that I can not concentrate on anything because of extreme runny nose and it is often followed up with shivering in legs and fever. This year I have started taking Kestine 10 mg one tablet before going to bed and it has controlled my allergic symptoms. Is it safe to take Kestine 10 mg while taking Amoxicillin 500 mg 4 per day for 10 days? ## Kestine contains the active ingredient Ebastine, it is used to help treat allergies. That said, the only antibiotic I see a warning listed for is Erythromycin, but we are not medical professionals, so you should talk to your doctor or pharmacist just to be certain. Is there anything else I can help you with?

It would be remiss of me to answer one way or the other, when I am not familiar with your medical history, your overall health or any other medications that you may be taking. Was it prescribed by your doctor?

I've been taking kestine (ebastine 10mg) for a very long time (about 2 years) for allergies (sneezing). But it causes irritation in my eyes and spots in my eyes. What should i do now? I can not stop talking it. I have to take an antihistamine every after 4 or five days due to sneezing and nasal suppression. And if i dont take this it will cause irritation in my nose and sneezing, headache, etc! please advise accordingly. ## Have you consulted a doctor? If it is causing these types of problems, you may need to switch to a different medication and there are other options available on the market. As to the problems you experience, if you stop taking it, that is completely normal, especially after having taken something for such a long period of time. Almost any medication will cause so...
