I used to take loestrin 21 1/20 and never had any issues with it. I moved and lost insurance for awhile. My new dr put me on Lo Loestrin FE. Today is my 1st day taking it. I am strictly using it to try to regulate my period and calm down my PMS symptoms. The loestrin 21 1/20 used to do the trick for me. The dr office said they're basically the same. I am 53 and have been taking lo loestrin fe 1/10 for about two years. I stopped taking it for 2 months and have lots of hot flashes and mood swings. I have started taking junel 1/20. Yes, that would happen if you stopped taking abruptly and two months wasn't enough time to allow your body to balance things back out on its own. From what you've listed, the Junel contains twice the amount of estrogens as the other. And its difficult to say when they will stop, it could take awhile for the hormones to balance back out. I'm crrently taking Junel Fe 1/20, which is a low-dose birth control pill - I think. Walmart has Sprintec and Tri-sprintec on its $4 Rx program. Would either of them be comparable or low-dose? ## You do not have to be on your period to start Sprintec. You can however start it on your first day of your period or the first Sunday after your menstrual cycle. ## Tri-Sprintec is not!
