Can lantus & humalog cause a wrong result for methamphetamine? For some reason I came up positive for it and certainly don't do it! ## Hello, Tom! How are you doing? I'm very sorry about what happened. I did some research for you and discovered several articles in PubMed, as well as other research sites that say this can happen, but it is usually due to being diabetic, not the medications. It can also occur, if someone has lowered kidney function, which often happens with diabetes, or certain kidney diseases. But no, I have not found anything showing those two medications being known to cause this. Did the person doing the test know you are diabetic?

I have a patient, my wife, whom I personally take good care at home. She has liver cancer. The following medicine are administered to her as maintenance: Neobloc tablet 50mg, omempron capsule 20mg, aldactone tablet 50mg, cozaar tablet 50mg, lantus and humalog insulin. Now, I want to know the functions/purpose of above mentioned medicines. Thank you very much. ## Sorry to hear about your wife. I hope that she may find some relief. Neobloc contains the active ingredient Metoprolol which is used mainly to treat high blood pressure. Omepron contains the active ingredient Omeprazole which is used to treat stomach conditions such as peptic ulcers, gerd, etc. It basically helps to inhibit the amount of stomach acid produced. Aldactone is used to help treat heart failure and blood pressure. Coz...

I had a kidney transplant and am on the following medications: Tacrolimus, cellcept, amlodipine, atenolol, bactrim & humalog (for diabetes). Can I take forskolin as well? I weigh 228lbs. ## I am sorry, but since Forskolin is classified as a supplement, I have not been able to find any information on this. The FDA doesn't require testing for them, as it does for actual medications. Has your doctor instructed you take it?

I'm taking losartan 100mg and atorvastatin 80 mg. I also take 45 units of Humalog, 80 units of Levemir, 500 mg metformin, carvedilol once a day, bumetanide and amlodipine 10 mg. I took all this for a long time. I started breaking out with about 200 hives all over my legs and side of my body. Can you please tell me what it could be? I had to quit taking all my medication except my sugar shot and I started adding one pill at a time. As soon as I got to that amlodipine and I took 70 units of my leveremir the next morning I broke out all over, so I quit and just took two 45 unit doses and I was okay. Can someone help me please? Thank you. ## Hi Tony, Sorry to hear about your situation. Because you're taking so many medications it may be challenging to determine exactly which ones ar...

I am a Type I diabetic. My diabetes was detected when I was 28 yrs old. Presently I am taking Insulin Humalog Plain thrice a day before every meal, my dose is 5 -10 - 5 units and also I take 18 units of Lantus Insulin at night. Can JALRA be taken as a replacement for the three injections i am taking before every meal. ## ya sure you can go for jalra, but you consult with your doctor... there is also another option for you which is onglyza 5 mg... ## Jalra M contains Vidagliptin and Metformin, which are both oral antidiabetic agents and, as kannan said, you should check with your doctor, before making any medication changes. The main problem is that oral medications are effective, but they are not usually as effective as insulin shots and, therefore, if you currently require insulin to c...

I have gone from a pill to a shot for type II diabetes. When I first started taking shots I was already taking hydrocodein 3X 10/325 per day. Once I started the shots I started getting a rash on my left arm and right leg. I tried all the insulans available and ended up with Humalog 75/25 mix, this being the one that was working with the least amount of rash symptoms. I still have the rash, could this be the Acetaminophen causing the remainder of the rash? I have reduced my weight changed my diet to the point where I only take one 20ml injection in the morning, I still have the rash on my arm. I eat with my medication and in fact eat4 to 5 times per day, I'm exercising 1 hour per day at least 5 days a week to the point to where I sweat. When I sweat it seams to not be as itchy, any i...

Hi everyone, I am curious if anyone has experienced intermittent vision loss while being on levothyroxine. For about two months now my vision in my left eye will randomly disappear for 2-3 seconds and then slowly dissipate back to normal. I've been through a litany of exams -- retinal, cardiovascular, MRI/MRA -- that are all coming back clear and now we're wondering if it could be the medications I am on. I am also on humalog, lisinopril and Simvastin. Has anyone experienced symptoms like this with levothyroxine? ## Hello, Julia! How are you? I'm sorry about the problem that you're having. Looking over your list of mediations, there is a chance that it might be due to the Simvastatin, according to the FDA, it has been known to cause several vision issues, which usually g...

what are the symtoms after an overdose of lantis my mom had 6 life threatining low of 20 or less in 4 days rushed to hospital 2 times doctors not absolutly sure what caused lows but to much lantis is suspected what do you think? ## It is very hard to say, since none of us are doctors and do not know your mother's medical history, nor what other drugs she was taking. The Lantus may have caused it, even without an overdose, if she was very sensitive to it, on the other hand, it could have been caused by her not eating properly, being sick or many other possibilities. ## I usually take 23 units of lantis at night. I think I just gave myself double the dose. Should I go to the E.R.? Also, I take humalog throughout the day.

I had to take a saliva test the other day and am taking oxicodone xanax Nexium benicar valcor cymbalta and atorvastatin synthroid humalog lantus and a Bayer asprine. When I went back I fentanyl showed up as well 1 ng. So they cut me off right there from the top 3 medications and I wasn't even sure what fentanyl was. Any suggestions or help on why that might be would be greatly appreciated! Thanks
