the #60 Glipizide/ metformin are 5-500 mg. and the #60 Glipizide are 5 mg. Why would you take 1 tablet of the Glipizide metformin 500 mg and 1 Glipizide 5 mg? do they balance each other out or help stabalize sugar levels? thank you for responding. ## metformin and glipizide are two seperate diabetic medications. the metformin has a small amount of glipizide in it - and the rest that you need is supplied by the 5mg pill. also, the 5mg glipizide should be taken 30 min before a meal, the 500 mg metformin WITH a meal. you should also be receiving vitamin B12 supplements, as the metformin decreases your levels.

I was on Metformin for 25 years. Dr told me to stop using it switch to Gilpizide because I am 80 years old. Apparently it could take you out in that age group. Cold turkey, I had severe chills for a couple of days accompanied by muscle and joint pains and a headache. Day 10 was somewhat improved as far as chills go. I am hanging in there with the glipizide Dose that was doubled. But the glucose level is still high. DDose that was doubled edzide ## Experiencing withdrawal effects is normal when you stop a medication cold turkey, after being on it for so many years, according to the NIH. It is likely also coupled with side effects from starting the new one, so a kind of double whammy. The FDA lists the side effects of Glipizide as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach pa...

With Gimaday Forte, My fasting sugar is 145 & PP sugar is 128.My HBA1c is 6.5.What should I do to bring down my fasting sugar to with in normal limits? ## Glimaday Forte contains the active ingredients Glipizide and Metformin, which are oral antidiabetic medications, used to help lower and control blood sugar. As to the fasting blood sugar, how long were you fasting? It is normal, when someone is a diabetic and fasts for a long period of time, for their blood sugar to raise, as the body is trying to then burn existing sugar stores for energy and a reading of 145 is not really unusual in such instances. A prolonged fast caused a kind of bouncing with blood sugar levels. After an initial period of time, your sugar will start to drop, but then it will eventually raise up, when, as I st...

I took Invokana (100mg) for 1 year and have now stopped. My FBS is now over 240, where it had been 150-160 in the past year or so (without Invokana). My readings are above 200 all day, regardless of my food intake. I take 1g of Metformin twice a day and 10mg Glipizide twice a day and still have these numbers. I'm concerned that the Invokana use over the past year has biased my system to be strongly diabetic whereas before it was much less so. I realize it's been a year and my condition could have changed while taking the Invokana but there seems to be a rebound effect. Has anyone experienced a blood sugar rebound effect after stopping Invokana? Thanks. ## Why did you stop the Invokana? The FDA does warn that it can be normal to have rebound issues, when you stop such a medicatio...

I'm type II diabetic and I have been waiting over 10 months to try this product out to lower my morning blood sugar count so I wouldn't have to start shooting insulin. It dropped my morning reading which has been steady at 165 to 115! I take metformin and glipizide but had to quit actos because of a similar problem as I have encountered with the Belviq. My legs retain and swell up with water. I also developed water blisters varying from 1/4" to the size of a quarter. Became uncomfortable and also itched. I quit taking Belviq and the symptoms went away. After a week of being OK I started taking Belviq again and had the same problems. It took about 2 weeks before I started to lose my appetite in the evening. I may try one more time just to make sure it's the Belviq causing...
