I'm taking By mycin 100mg twice a day for ten days only on day one and have heartburn can I take losec or something similar ## By-Mycin contains the active ingredient Doxycycline, which is an antibiotic used to treat various types of infections. Losec contains the active ingredient Omeprazole and, while you should check with your doctor or pharmacist to be certain, I am not finding any problems listed between using them together. Most of the antacid warnings pertain to calcium based ones, because it can interfere with the absorption of some medications. Is there anything else I can help with?

However, that doesn't mean it isn't a side effect since everyone has different body chemistry and can therefore react differently to medications. My only guess is that it could possibly be a yeast infection, as those are quite common after taking antibiotics and can cause an unpleasant odor. I started on by-mycin tablets yesterday having to take two tablets on day one and just one tablet a day for the next six days. By now I have taken three of the tablets and still feel as bad as ever. They can be taken together, if your doctor has instructed you to do so, but the By-Mycin may slightly reduce the efficacy of the Augmentin. As to which is better, it really depends on the type of infection being treated and its severity. What has your doctor said caused the infections? I've been on By-Mycin 100 since Saturday for a sinus infection, instructed to take 2 to start and take 1 a day for ten days. I feel a lot worse since starting treatment. Sorry about the problem that you're having. Which antibiotics have you tried? I've no idea what may be stronger, since you didn't list all of them.
