Hi. I take Fioricet with Codeine approximately once a day to relieve major headaches. It is the ONLY thing that helps. Walgreens just told me it is being discontinued and I am a bit panicked as it is a life changer for me. Regular Fioricet doesn't really help. Any suggestions on what I can try? Next visit with my Neurologist may ask him to get each ingredient separately if I have too. Thanks! ## Hello, Were you ever able to find out why that particular product was being discontinued? I know that you mentioned possibly going the route of getting each ingredient separately from your neurologist, but, if it was discontinued for a good reason (which it probably was), then I would definitely encourage you to try and find out why, before even considering taking it again; at least for your...

Try COSTCO (no memb reqd for phar), or get an AAA membshp AAA membership cost covers the difference on ONE fill for me! Ck AAA website to see which pharmacies are in program. They discount if from the pharm;s cost. I use CVS or Walgreens, and some pharmacies don't discount narcotics, so check first. ## If anyone else is looking for additional ways to save on their prescription, I know MedsChat also offers a very good drug discount card that can reportedly save you anywhere from 15% to 75% off your Rx at most major pharmacies, potentially cutting the cost drastically. You can view more details about it here: Rx Savings Card Just print out that card and take it with you whenever you go to fill your prescription and see what type of discount they can offer you. Hi! I've been taking fioricet with codeine for six years!! I started with two pills a day (along with a ton of other meds) and now I'm up to five. My dosage is at 325-30-30. This is the ONLY medicine that works and will keep my migraines at bay. They are NOT rebound headaches, I do know the difference. I'm wondering if there is something stronger or a slow release or something else that I can take so I don't feel like an addict to this medication. Because frankly I am! I can't go two days without it or one, my migraines with debilitate me and 2, I loose my cognitive functions. Any advice is welcome. ## I am very sorry about your migraines, they are a horrible thing to suffer. However, I think you may benefit from my explaining the difference between addiction and dep...

I get severe headaches/ migraines that last for days with NO relief unless I took the blue pills fiorecet with butalbital caffeine AND codiene. After years of taking it and never getting addicted. I never even asked for an increase in strength or frequency! My stupid Dr. decides to stop it and give me massive doses of ibuprophen (advil) saying it would work the same, I reminded him that I had started seeing HIM because nothing otc worked! He said I was having rebound headaches from them. Well, I found out that for me, it was the butalbital that caused the rebound headaches not the codiene which was the only part of that pill combo besides the caffeine that helped. I now have a prescription for straight codiene (codeine sulfate) and it WORKS! I take 1 I don't get drowsy and it takes ...

Need advice on taking Fioricet. I have headaches and have been taking this for 7 months. My headaches are getting worse and I'm getting addicted. I cut down to 2 a day, and I think I should stop. NEED ADVICE. I am very tired all day as well. Please write back. ## I AM NOT A DOCTOR. This is my experience. Pain doctor prescribed Fioricet for my horrible headaches after car accident. I had terrible rebound headaches I knew were being caused by daily use of Fioricet (no codeine). I was taking from 1-3 pills per day, for 4 months. I cut it down to one pill in the morning the first day, and substituted ONE Excedrin Migraine for the evening dose(s). To my surprise, one Excedrin Migraine took away headache. I have had no withdrawal symptoms from the butalbital. My max dosage per day was 150...

BUT/APAP/CAF w/ CODEIN usually provides migraine relief, but too often with nausea, vomiting. Any recommendations to help w/ nausea/vomiting? ## Have you consulted your doctor? The Codeine is a narcotic and they are very well known for causing nausea and vomiting. It can sometimes be mitigated by making sure you don't take it on an empty stomach, but you should talk to your doctor to discover what would be the best solution for you to use.

Does this have codeine in it? I'm allergic to it. ## Hello, Daniel! How are you? No, Fioricet contains Acetaminophen, Butalbital and Caffeine. It is most commonly used to treat or prevent migraines. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, sedation, insomnia and nervousness. Is there anything else I can help with?

I take Fioricet with codeine for headaches. However, my doctor prescribed oxycodone 10mg for menstrual cramps. Can I take the oxycodone 4 hours after the Fioricet? ## Generally, it is best not to combine opiates, unless your doctor specifically has told you to do so. Was this doctor aware that you are already taking one? The FDA warns that these medications carry the risk of being habit forming, and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, constipation, and headache.

The price in Missouri has doubled and it is not covered by ANY medicare D plan anyone know why the price is so damn high when there is a generid? ## Unfortunately, I have no answer for you. The price is always going to vary from pharmacy to pharmacy and from area to area, whether a medication is name brand or generic. What price where you charged for it? Did you try checking with different pharmacies? ## I live in California and I purchase my Butalbital with codeine at Costco. Without insurance 120 pills are only $40.00 and most of the other pharmacys are going to charge you up to $270.00 for the same generic brand. How crazy is that. ## I live in Lake Odessa, Michigan and am rather disturbed that the drug price on Fioricet has gone from a cash price of $42.41 for 180 tablets to $88.00 ...

I was told that mia 110 contains codeine as well. Is that the truth? I was told this by the pharmacist and I had prescription for fioricet with codeine and that's what I got. Is this less expensive than fioricet with codeine? I don't think it has any codeine as I have terrible headaches still. ## No, there is no codeine in those tablets. It is simply Mikart's generic version of Fioricet which contains butalbital, acetaminophen, and caffeine. No opiate. ## Just to confirm, the pill in description (MIA 110) is indeed a combination of Acetaminophen (325 mg) + Butalbital (50 mg) + Caffeine (40 mg). Manufacturer: Mikart, Inc. This is most commonly used to treat migraines and tension headaches. You can learn more about this drug on the page for Acetaminophen + Butalbital + Caffein...

Hi going thru tough benzo withdraw and wanting to know if butal/acetamin/caf codeine will be ok ## Hi Rick, Sorry to hear about the withdrawals. From what I could gather, Fioricet w/ Codeine (Butalbital + Acetaminophen + Caffeine) is marketed for use in relieving tension headaches and pain. Apparently the caffeine is what works to relieve headache pain, while butalbital and acetaminophen work together to help relieve general pain, relax muscles, as well as decrease anxiety. The codeine, I imagine, would just be an added boost to these effects. So depending on what types of symptoms you're experiencing in regards to benzo withdrawal, then it seems to me that this medication may help to alleviate those one's mentioned above in particular. I hope this helps and wish you a quick rec...

headaches ## are these narcotic ## are Fioricet 50-325-40 a narcotic ## I am wondering t he same thing have you found out yet ## There are 2 different variations of Fioricet that are available. The one asked about here that only lists the dosage of 3 medications does not contain a narcotic, it only contains Acetaminophen, Butalbital and Caffeine. Learn more Fioricet details here. The other is noted as being Fioricet with Codeine, it would list 4 dosage amounts, so it just adds the Codeine to the ingredients I've already listed. Learn more Codeine details here. Your prescription, or the bottle and monograph from the pharmacy should list exactly what it is that you have been prescribed. Are there any other questions? Anything else I can help with?

I had read that West Ward fioricet was off the market. This medicine helped so much with my headaches. Can you please tell me if the West Ward fioricet will be available soon? ## Hi tam213, According to the drug's main webpage, Fioricet products containing 325 mgs of acetaminophen have in-fact been discontinued. New formulations of Fioricet & Fioricet w/ Codeine reportedly contain 300 mgs of acetaminophen per capsule to meet the FDA's safety guidelines surrounding acetaminophen dosing limitations. I'm not sure when it's supposed to be back on the shelves, if it's not already. But I would suggest contacting West-Ward Pharmaceuticals directly for additional details at: Recall Inquiries: [email protected] Customer Service Inquiries: [email protected]...

I have been on Fiorinal w Codeine and Fioricet as well as Valium for Sleep. I have 3 herniated disks in my back, Scloroisis, Nerve Damage in my left leg and Chronic Migraines. Recently was accused by my pain doc of using morphine and hydromorphone. I am prescribed oxycontin, oxycodone plus fioricet with codeine by my neurologist for migraines. I am not sure but was told by my pharmacist that codeine breaks down as morphine and hydromorphone in the body. I do not cheat on my medications. He also did not see the drugs he prescribes in my system which are the oxycontin and oxycodone. My only answer was I assume I had a bad migraine and had taken the fioricet/codeine. I can't take the other meds when I have a migraine due to nausea. I would really like a coposetic answer because I do not take morphine or hydromorphone. I am tired of being accused of something I haven't done. I feel if I have an answer to the break down of the codeine it would be so helpful.

do these pill make u drowser..and can i take lortab with this medication..and do these pill suppose really stop my headache..and can i go too work and take this pills... ## The tablets you're asking about contain Butalbital, Aspirin, Codeine and Caffeine. Learn more Fioricet details here. Learn more Codeine details here. Yes, since the Codeine is a narcotic opiate, it may cause drowsiness and no, they should not be combined with the Lortab, since it contains Hydrocodone, which is another narcotic and Acetaminophen. Learn more Lortab details here. And I wouldn't suggest taking them, if you have to go to work, until you see how they affect you, since they may also cause dizziness and nausea, in addition to the drowsiness. Are there any other questions I can help with?
