Dexfenfluramine Drug Index

Dexfenfluramine, marketed as dexfenfluramine hydrochloride under the name Redux, is a serotonergic anorectic drug: it reduces appetite by increasing the amount of extracellular serotonin in the brain.[1] It is the d-enantiomer of fenfluramine and is structurally similar to amphetamine, but lacks any psychologically stimulating effects. Dexfenfluramine was, for some years in the mid-1990s, approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration for the purposes of weight los...

Does anyone know about the availability of fenfluramine? I would like to purchase fenfluramine. ## I am sorry, Stacie, but this medication has been removed from the market, so it cannot be purchased. The FDA reports that it was found to cause an increased risk of fatal cardiac events, such as stroke, or heart attack. Is there anything else I can help with?

Does anyone known of a drug, same as pondimin and where can i purchase it. ## Pondimin contained the active ingredient Fenfluramine, which was removed from the market worldwide due to the severe risks it created of cardiac dangers. Learn more Fenfluramine details here. That said, it is no longer available. If you need to lose weight, I strongly urge you to find a safe and healthy way to do so, rather than resort to using drugs that may put your life in danger. Are there any other questions or comments?

What is the difference between Phentermine and Phenternine. I used phenternine a few years ago and lost tons of weight. I tried Phentermine and it did nothing. I don't want to spend the money if it won't work. ## To be honest I have not been able to find much on "Phenternine". Based on what you are describing, could you mean the drug which was discontinued called <a href= ? This drug contained Phentermine plus an additional ingredient called Fenfluramine. Although many reported much better results with that combination of ingredients, it was withdrawn from the market because of reported heart problems. Hope this helps. Please post back if you have any information to add, or any other questions...

I believe John Goodman took a pill starting with the letter F. Saw it yesterday, March 12, 2016 somewhere. Bui ## Forskolin was the supplement I saw in an article. ## @Buick, Any idea if this was a supplement or a prescription drug? Forskolin is the most common dietary supplement I'm finding in this category. However I know Phentermine certainly sounds like it could start with an 'F' if you had just heard it on TV without seeing it spelled out. There's also some other not so well-known products in the realm of weight loss meds/supplements such as Fenfluramine [though some reports suggest that it was withdrawn from the U.S. market in 1997 due to potentially serious adverse effects]; as well as a product by the name of "Fruta Planta" which is discussed in other thr...

Why can't I find any information on this? My Dr. wants me to take it for weight loss but I found that it isn't a prescription and it has to be made at a special pharmacy. I know phen-phen was a bad deal, is this different? ## It sounds like the regimen which you have been recommended is a dose of Phentermine coupled with Chromium Picolinate. The Chromium is an over the counter nutritional supplement which is supposed to help reduce cravings for fat & carbs - although I do not believe that extensive clinical trials have been conducted to prove its efficacy. Fen-phen is completely different such that it contained an ingredient Fenfluramine which was deemed to be unsafe, and was banned by the FDA. I have heard reports of individuals having good results with the Phen Chrome comb...
