Shire US discontinued the mfg of DextroStat, at the end of the year 2007. Another bought out the license to produce DextroStat, but, it was also discontinued by Phys Total Care at the end of 2008, only available in 2008 in 5 mg, as the 10 mg was discontinued. I believe the license/patent, had expired, as well, as "Dextrostat" was a patented license by Richwood Pharmaceuticals of Kentucky beginning in the year 1994, and, ShireUS bought the patent rights, and, merged Richwood into ShireUS, with headquarters, in, Wayne PA 19087 soon after 9/11/2001. As we all know who are very used to Orange Book FDA ratings, the rare AA rated Dexedrine by Glaxo Smith Kline in 5mg I/R doses, and, DextroStat, was also AA rated by Orange Book out of 17 categories, but, both vanished from the shelves,...

I was 5 years into my nurseing career when I crashed and burned hard. At the end I was misusing over 100mg of morphine /day, or 8mg hydromorphone, or 300mg meperidine. Went to heroin after getting caught and losing license. 3 to 5g/day if I could. So I was a very heavy user for 9 years or so. Went to rehab, did 35 days in patient. That first 30 was bad. Insomnia, PAWS, depression all pretty bad. But in patient, with 20 or more other survivors, structured days etc made it possible. After discharge (I went 3000 miles from home for rehab) I returned and plugged into recovery network. Meetings, sponsor, phone calls etc. First 2 weeks out (day 35-50) were tough. Restless leg, cramps, diarrhea, insomnia, depression, anxiety, lethargy, all part of PAWS. Friends in the rooms said it would pass....

My boyfriend was given a small round white pill with no imprints, just a line on one side. He was told it was methadone but shouldn't there be imprints on it if it was? ## There methadone if they have a score on the back then they're definitely methadone ## @Jessica, If your boyfriend isn't going through a doctor and licensed pharmacy, the pill could literally be anything from A to Z. The only way to prove that they actually have methadone in them is to have the contents analyzed by a lab or drug panel. Physically identical counterfeits are ever so prominent these days that he pretty much has to obtain his medication legally or else he could be risking his life thinking it's one thing when it may end up turning out to be poison. You have to be overly cautious when it com...

I have been on methadone for about 6 years and had to start going to a maintenance clinic a few yrs ago after my pain dr lost his license here in Phoenix, Arizona. I tried going to another pain clinic after mine closed but they wanted me off the methadone and forced me to taper off of it in one week and demanded I took gabapentin which DOES NOT work and they didn't care. Anyways, I went to mmt clinic and have been there since but there are so many things wrong with it, I'd end up writing a book. Does anyone know of a pain Mgmt doc who writes methadone scripts in Metro Phoenix area? ## Unfortunately, since you've been going to the clinic, it isn't likely that you'll find a doctor that will take you on. For addiction/maintenance, the current laws will only allow it to ...

I was on 30mg of mitprtazipine for 18 months, I came off them at the end if January as I could not stand the terrifying nightmares I was having, since then I have suffered with a fatty liver and chronic lower back, pain between my shoulder blades and muscle pain, have tried all methods of relief, chiropractor , osteopath, massage and all kinds of pain relief, nothing so far is having any effect , would like to know if anyone else has suffered anything similar. ## Hi Liz, First and foremost, be aware that all thoughts and opinions expressed are based on my research and should not be mistaken for medical advice. I am not a doctor nor a pharmacist. all medical questions should be answered by a licensed pharmacist or doctor. I am truly sorry to hear about all that you have been through. I h...

Where can i find generic oxycontin 40Mg in north jersey?????? i have a legitimate script and cant find it! i cant spend 200$ on my medicine ## I am very sorry, but there is no generic of Oxycontin, which contains the narcotic Oxycodone in a time released formulation. The generics were removed from the market, several years ago, due to the extremely high rates of theft and diversion that take place with this medication. If there is only one company making it, Purdue Pharma, then it is far easier to keep track of the supply and where it ends up. Even the ones provided by Ethex Pharmaceuticals are name brand, they are just a licensed distributor for Purdue. Have you tried talking to your doctor about trying something else? There is a regular release formulation of Oxycontin that is availab...

I've been taking 2mg sub a day for the past year. I've had a few bumps in the road over the past year and my sub Dr has been very patient. I'm going to run out before my next refill. I'm scared and I'm sorry if this against the board rules. ## This is why they have contracts. You should tell the doctor if your pain is still not being managed. Taking more than what is prescribed is not good, and is why the rest of us end up paying. "Sorry"? Your doctor is NOT going to give you any extra, because his license to practice, is on the line. They have heard every story..."they fell out of my purse", "I dropped some in the sink". No sympathy at all. It's up to you to report, that you are still in pain. Deciding to medicate yourself more, without g...

For those of you who have been seeking a Suboxone program in Southwest Louisiana, I have some good news to share for the ones who aren't aware of the expansion approved by our state. There are now more options & many more physicians & also Nurse Practioners who are licensed to prescribe Suboxone and they also accept Louisiana Medicaid. Many of them are also accepting new patients in the Alexandria/Pineville area, also the Lake Charles area which is in Calcasieu Parish and in the Lafayette, La area, as well. ## Ho can I find these Doctors ? I live close to BR and I have been driving to Jefferson Parish. I am disabled and between the gas and visit I end up paying almost 200.00 plus each month. I am sure that it will be cheaper being on SSI & SSI. I have never used any ille...

I've been on methadone for almost 13 yrs due to a car accident when I was a teenager that left me disabled and with chronic pain. My current Dr. Received a letter from the Medical Board ( which he let me see) explaining that in order to keep prescribing methadone that he will need to get a license that will allow him too continue to perscribe this. My dr said it's became a huge hassle and that because of other patients "dr shopping" he just can't do it anymore. I've been with him for over 6 yrs! He was nice enough to give me a supply to last me a few months to give me time to find a Dr that will help me. My dr now said if by chance I'm still haveing trouble at the end of three months, he will keep helping me but he's not sure for how much longer. I'm ...

i have been told that because i am having pains during rest and working . that i am noe allowed to drive . can i drive short distances i was driving at least 2000miles a week ## Hello, Dave! How are you? No, you should not be driving, at all. There is a risk of your developing chest pain, heart failure, stroke or having a heart attack, while driving that may not only endanger your life, as reported by the NIH, by could also endanger the lives of others on the roadway. People with uncontrolled epilepsy, diabetes and other medical conditions are also often restricted from driving, due to such dangers. Are you on any medications for it? Your doctor(s) can even report this to the driver's bureau, in most countries, so your license is flagged and if you get pulled over, you could end up ...

My doctor cut me off of percocet 10/325...because he tested me and found none in me i had been trying to take them only when really needed them he seems to have other ideas of what i was doing with them...so he stopped cold turkey and offered me nothing to help.I have had pain in my neck after 4 surgeries and have been on them for 4 years the depreshion is taking over me i can't stop crying and i am at my wits end...i don't know what to do the doctor won't listen to me... ## Hello, Tera! How are you? I'm very sorry about what happened to you, but your doctor really had no choice. I obtained medium size hot pink circular pills. On one side it's scored , on the other it is blank. I can't find a legit source as to what these are. Could be anything I know... I've seen ppl say oxycodone ... Possible allegations that they were given to me before they were imprinted with identification . They look exactly like the oxycodone pills that read " K 56" ## In my view, the title of this thread automatically denotes the pill as being either counterfeit, foreign or OTC. Legitimate prescription pills dispensed by licensed US pharmacies are required by law to bear an imprint for identification. End of story. Without an imprint, anyone could say that it contains anything or call it whatever they wish... Under such circumstances a lab analysis would probably be ...

I have been taking chantex for almost 3 weeks. The week I stopped I did good. I was on a trip that week, but after returning home I have had a hard time with it. Is there a chance I need more than the two a day? Please help. I want this to work so badly. Thanks. ## No one can really answer that for you, except for your doctor. You need to call up and talk to them or make an appointment, explain the issue and they will be able to best evaluate you and help you find a solution. It would be remiss for anyone online who does not know your medical history and is not a licensed medical professional to try to guess and give you such an answer. Upping the dose yourself or taking it more frequently, without knowing all the information on the drug and its safe usage, could seriously endanger your...

Are 2mg white Xanax bars sometimes thicker on the ends ## If you're not getting your meds from a REAL licensed pharmacy, there's not much I can do to help you except that the fake bars have been reported to be thinner in some cases (not all). And depending on what the imprint is, you may also want to compare how it looks with legitimate images on the internet so you can see if there are any other discrepancies outside of how thick it is. Some people even suggest tasting it first, since a notably bitter taste is a trademark for real Alprazolam. However, in my opinion there are lot of chemicals/ingredients that have a bitter taste, so a physically identical counterfeit could easily be mistaken for something real until you risk trying it. That's why I always encourage people in...

I have taken IV heroin multiple times and ended up with very bad experiences. I am currently in trouble with my state license in the healthcare field. I am afraid I will not be able to get off of it for any length of time without suboxone.I want to know if suboxone can be detected in my urine drug tests if I am not currently being tested for it. If I am positive I will never be able to work in my profession again. Is there some way I can take this even in a small amount without it showing up on the 25 panel test, which I don't think tests for it anyway.
