I accidentally put systane eye drops n my nose thinking it was my saline, is this dangerous? Should I go to doctor? ## Hello, Cindy! How are you? It would actually be more risky the other way around, since nasal drops are not sterile like eye drops. Since these are just lubricating drops, there's likely nothing to worry about, but you may experience runny nose and some nasal irritation, as reported by the FDA. Did you experience any adverse effects? When in doubt, it's always best to check with your doctor, your nearest urgent care or call poison control.

However, no one has seemed to be able to find how to buy them. In the 80's people bought the X112's over-the-counter, but I don't think that German or American Law allows it. I think the German locals have to buy with a prescription! Several years ago a doctor recommended over the counter "briny" eyedrops which I found to be helpful in managing "sandpapery" feeling eyes. Now I would like to use these eyedrops again but I cannot remember the name. I seem to recall they started with UR (not sure). If so and they did not tell you to add anything else, then you should not need to, you just it the way it is. Have you asked your pharmacist or doctor to double check? As an ENT specialist, I am treating Keratosis obturans and Cholesteatoma of the external ear canal. I have found a recommendation in the literature to use the above solution (Burow's aluminum acetate 5% in water).
