Due to the regulations that were put in place last year, if you require such a medication, you'll need to see a specialist for a proper diagnosis and treatment. Upon seeing one, you also won't be able to demand a specific medication, or they will view that as being drug seeking behavior. Do you currently have a PCP that could refer you to someone? If so, that would most likely be the easiest way of finding the help you need.

I have ADD , as a child I could not even get out of bed to go out and play,I was called a dummy all my life until I started to take desoxyn after I was forced to drop out of school.I was about 18. Once I started this wonder drug my whole world opened up. I excelled at everything I tried it was as though a curtain was opened up for me.I just could not learn as others do and still can't. However everyone who meets me thinks I have gone to college. Amphetamine ## This Medication was prescribied to me for narcolepsy. My quality of life has dropped tremendously.I lost 50% of my functions. I have not been awake since this drug was discontinued. I would love to be able to have this medication and get my life back. ## Why someone would discontinue a drug that has such a great effect on narcolepsy patients? Hi, Desoxyn is not discontinued! Or I just got ripped off by my drug store today! 3/13/2006. Only is available in 5mg. doses. For ADD / ADHD or Narcolepsy. Also for obesity but I never heard of any one getting it for that. I am 180 lbs. Dosage that works best for me Is 25 mg. 2 X Day. Some will tell you to use more. I think much more is bordering on abuse, instead of therapy. I have ADD & Narcolepsy! ## No it's not discontinued it's made by Ovation Pharmeceuticals. I think the name just changed but you can locate it under that. Good luck getting it. I have the severest case of ADHD ever documented in Washington State and none of the stimulants work half as good as Desoxyn and I can't get it. I could if I wanted to pay the $1000+ for it myself. I would like to know how to obtain a prescription. ## send info please ## Desoxyn was prescribed to me and my son for narcolepsy. It is amazing that such a safe & effective drug was taken off the market. We have not been awake since the discontinuince of desoxyn. We currently take adderrall & dexedrine, they don't come close. Desoxyn seems to be given to some. I for one have never had it or anything close, legal or not. If you did use it, was it effective or was it too much to tolerate. What was your experience? ## I haven't taken it yet. Pharmacies like CVS and Ralphs don't have it and other pharmacies I've called need the actual written prescription to tell me if they can even fill it. So I have to get the physical prescription from my Dr. and drive around and ask. I'll let you know asap. ## Desoxyn is new news to me as well. I am a vet and have ptsd and adhd. A fellow service member gave me dysoxin to help with overwhelming anxiety before a speech I gave at a convention last week. I ask my dr for a script and he said no. I can't take adderall because of the irritability at night. And nothing else works. This drug worked for me. Why can't I get a dr to give it to me? I am in Orange County, CA. I suffer from severe ADD and anxiety. I found a doctor in Houston who prescribe me Desoxyn and Adderall for 12 years to treat my anxiety and ADD. But recently she decided to take me off the medication. I have years of records I’ve been prescribed medication and a severe need for it to function at work and live my life normally. I've had an ADHD diagnosis for quite a while. I've been on everything from Concerta to Adderall and am currently prescribed 90mg of Adderall a day. I am pretty curious about Desoxyn and the thought that I could get the same results from 5 mg a day. What are your thoughts and where can I go? I have tried every adhd med. Am currently taking adderall 20mg but have been feeling extremely tired all the time for the last 6 months. How should I approach my doctor about trying Desoxyn and which kinds or brands are still available? Or how else can I try it? ## Usually, it is best to not ask for a specific medication, just let them know that the current on is not working for you. Confused? also take Geodon avian razadone wellbutrin and effexor ## You might need to up your dose(s) check with your Dr. Question, where do you get your prescriptions filled? I used to take the former Abbott Labs of North Chicago, Illinois, the former 10mg and 15 mg. "Desoxyn Gradumet tablets, which were available at least from 1965 until 1999, these were extended (sustained release tablets) not the instant release 5 mg ones that Ovation is licensed to manufacture for Abbott. The 10 mg were orange, the15 mg were yellow. Even the white ones, 5 mg, were embossed with the classic little reverse "a" in a small letter. does anyone know what color abbott laboratories desoxyn SRs came in? i have a green pill with the company logo which i think may be that. it is mint green the lower case abbott a is imprinted on the front, and it is scored on the back with no identifying numbers. also it is a very old vintage pill, making it even harder to be certain...help me out, whoever can figure it out gets a fruit basket lol ## The ones I got for a few months in my teens were off white and I think had MI written on it but that was in 1997. I was on the 15 mg ones 2 of them twice a day.
