Having bouts of constipation since January 2011. Could the formula for Cytomel have changed since Pfizer bought out King Pharmaceutical? Allergic to wheat & gluten. My TSH levels are within a good range. Interested to know if anyone else has noticed change in the last year. ## Yes, they could have changed something in the inactive ingredients, though I haven't found any specific information on that. It's also highly possible that your body had just changed slightly, with time, so you are experiencing new side effects from it. Or it could be completely unrelated to the medication. Have you talked to your doctor about it?

i have been on synthroid and armour and now back on sythroid and cytomel. I have put on twenty pounds and have all the other symtpoms that come with hypo. despite doing medifast and working out. i spoke to my cardiologist the other day and he suggested if nothing is working maybe i never should have been put on it. I was diagnosed with hypothyroid due to my pregancy and losing a lot of weight quickly. my new endo said i probably had post-partum hypo and my other endo should have waited to see if it would have resolved on its own. i'm slowly weaning myself off and going to keep having doc take my levels every four weeks. I'm hoping i can feel like myself again after 10 years. ## Hi Heather, sorry to hear about your challenges with hypothyroidism. May I ask what your typical day t...

I took Levoxyl for about 10 years. I have tried almost all other drugs synthroid, unithroid, armour, cytomel and Levoxyl worked the best, when it went off the market they put me on generics and that didn't work. I than tried tirosint that was stronger than my 137 mg levoxyl. When I heard Levoxyl was again available I got my prescription refilled and thought I'm going to feel better again. I did'nt, I'm not sure that they haven't changed the formulation . Has anyone else had the same situation? ## I've taken it for 24 years prior to it going off the market & always felt fine. Since it was reintroduced I also have not felt well. In fact on the same dose, my TSH was 19.8 when analyzed 11/2015!! Doc has no answer for me. Thinks it is absorption problem. I told hi...

Pink heart shaped pill marked GP on one side with a line through the middle on the other. I was told it is cytomel T3 medication. ## They don't provide a description of the tablets, but the GP marking is used on all products manufactured by Geneza Pharmaceuticals and they do make a generic Cytomel tablet that contains 25mcgs of Liothyronine, used to treat Thyroid disorders. Where was it found/obtained? You can learn more about the medication here:

I've taken this medication on and off for years. New endo- thought we should try again, despite my very educated disapproval. Switched from armour to levo-112mcg and cytomel (t3) -5mcg. I almost forgot what it felt like to be so ill. It's only been a week, but it's been horrific. Heartburn, cramps, nausea, painful bloating, night sweats (let me rephrase, more like night swimming.) And yes, more acne. At almost 40, I look like a 15 yr. old pubescent boy. Charming. This is morning sicknesses and intestinal flu all wrapped up in a pretty pink pill. So for those of you that are new to this, its a long haul, and there are other meds out there. Be persistent, if after two months symptoms do no subside-look further. Some of us just can not tolerate this sorry excuse of a medication...

Been on Synthroid for years (1990's) never been able to get any good results, felt like I was being poisoned every time I took it, my symptoms were horrible. Recently got in to see endocrinologist that prescribed tirosint along with cytomel. 8th day now and a lot of the symptoms I was having on Synthroid are gone, but was wondering how long before I could see results from tirosint. Would love some feedback ## There is really no way to say for sure, generally it takes about 4 to 5 weeks for a medication to reach its full level of efficacy in the body, but it can vary, since we are all different. I'm tired of taking meds. I started taking xanax and vicodin to relieve anxiety but I want to stop. I just stopped gabapentin and seroquel the other day and I am miserable without the xanax and vicodin. I take 50 Mcg of cytomel and 60 of Prozac and haven't stopped that. I was fine for 15 years on Prozac alone but began drinking after 18 years of sobriety in 2005 and my body chemistry went haywire. I have been a guinea pig for meds ever since even though I now have 4 years of sobriety. Will I ever be ok? I started smoking again after 17 years and I want to quit but I am going nuts! Small, dainty football shaped white pill. It is vertically scored through the center and has a capital M on one side of the score and a capital L on the other. The other side of the pill has the number 12. I believe it may be a thyroid pill such as a generic cytamel but cannot find it on line. ## Yes, it is a tablet that's used to treat thyroid disorders.
