This has been prescribed - - there is nothing on the [Rx] label, or the container, stating the ingredients. (I suppose because it IS a prescription.) I have searched far and wide trying to find out the ingredients; is it a combo of colace and ducolax? or simply some company trying to trade on the syllables "duco", since ducolax is a well-known brand name! Thanks. ## From what I could gather, Dulcolax stool softener is the same thing as Colace. They are not different other than the brand name. That said, it does make sense that Ducolace would simply be another brand name of the drug (from a different manufacturer perhaps). I'm surprised the pharmacy who filled your prescription didn't give you more details on it. It seems like they try to get people out of there as quick ...

If so, can you please post back with them?

Can anyone tell me if the fentanyl 50mcg and dilaudid 4mg, which I had taken two of by that time along with an inj. of Nubane & colace caused me to have a horrific seizure within a half hour after dosing? I have never taken colace before and some meds alone cause me to seize. Need to know. ## I'm very sorry about what happened to you. However, I really don't think anyone is going to be able to give you a definitive answer to this. It is possible, thought not common and, if you've had seizures before, it could have been entirely unrelated to any of these medications. Has your doctor ordered testing, such as brain scan, as recommended by the NIH? If something causes some type of chemical imbalance in your brain, then it could very well cause a seizure. Are these the only m...

Is a dark stool normal when taking Colace? My husband been taking Colace since having surgery 4 weeks ago. Is this normal? ## Hello, Queenie! How are you? It could be due to the Colace, or even the medications used during the surgery, according to the NIH. However, it is always best to have it checked out by his doctor, to be sure. Is he on any other medications? What type of surgery did he have done?

extremely constipated. Have tried everything. Metamucil, Colace, Enema. Have not had a BM in in 5 days. Fractured my back ## first you need a stool softener, lots of water a large green garden salad followed by a large coleslaw then drink lots of water and eat some prunes good luck. L8RS ## Actually, if it's been more than 4 days, you suffered a recent injury, are taking a narcotic pain medication and the other options haven't worked, then you need to consult a doctor. Learn more constipation details here. Many people don't realize it, but constipation like this that doesn't respond to normal treatments may be the sign of a serious health problem, especially with a spinal injury. Are there any other questions or comments?

I have had difficulty with orgasms after taking Resotran for the past seven months. I also take Senokot and Colace. I am 63 and post menopausal on Bio identical estriol and Progesterone. Could this be due to the laxatives? ## Hello, Judy! How are you? It is most likely due to the bio-identical hormones that you're using, both play a role. How much of the progesterone are you using? It's usually the one that turns such off, so it could be the culprit. Estrogen usually does the opposite.

Red on one side white on one side p10 with a pink ballon on the white side ## I believe the pill you've found is a generic for Colace, this is the new logo and marking. It contains 100mgs of Docusate Sodium, which is a stool softener. The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, stomach cramps and diarrhea. Is there anything else I can help with?

What is an oval shaped gel like pill that is purple on one side and cream color on the other side? It has P 10 on it and it is used for constipation. ## This is a generic or store brand for Colace, it contains Docusate Sodium 10mgs, used as a laxative. ## My father who is 91 has been taking RA Col-Rite 100 mg twice a day for a couple of months. He has been noticing a feeling in his face like it's swelling but it is not evident to others and says that his eyes feel puffy and dry. He uses eye drops so it's not that he's experiencing dry eyes in general. ## I cannot believe that every pharmacy in the Bronx, Rite Aid or any other, will not dispense legitimately prescribed Oxycodone.

In the past I have purchased several equate brand OTC's. Recently I have found them to be either completely ineffective or reduced. Specifically their stool softener (plus stimulant laxative) comparable to Peri-Colace. Too bad, they were inexpensive. ## Hi Julie, Sorry to hear about your experience with Equate brand OTC meds not working as well as before. If you don't mind me asking, which brand have you resorted to using now? I for one find epsom salt to be an excellent stool softener, along with a number of other natural remedies (including various fruits, vegetables, and water). But with Equate brands allegedly out of the picture now, it may be a good idea to just continue trying different alternatives over time until you come across something similar to what you once had. I found them in the bottom my meds bag. I must have took them for something. . maybe a supplement? They are im printed with M6M6 or 9393 or 9M9M the M is on its side and looks like the roman numeral for 1000 ## I have the same pill found in my elderly mothers colace bottle. Do you know what it is? ## Hi Jim, Just wondering if your elderly mother had any recollection of what this might be or what it's supposed to be? I tried looking up "colace" which comes in either blue, red/white or green packaging, but they don't show you what the actual pill looks like. Apparently though the blue package contains capsules, the red/white package contains soft gels, and the green package contains tablets. Could the capsule be dark blue by chance? I suppose as a last resort it might be a...

I am suffering with sciatica that is either caused by, or made worse by ulcerative colitis causing pain in my left leg. I am often constipated as a result and it makes the pain unberable at times. I know Diclofenac can cause stroke and I was wondering how safe it is to take Colace with it to ease the constipation being that they both contain a type of "sodium" ## Diclofenac is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory. Colace/ Sodium Docusate is a stool softener. ## It isn't that they contain types of sodium, it is just the base ion of the exact salt that the medications are derived from. You shouldn't take anything, without your doctor's approval, but these aren't like the sodium you are thinking of that's found in food or table salt. Is there anything else I can hel...

Found a pill its red and white has rpc 63 does anyone know what it is ? ## Hi sparky, Based on the description provided, the closest match I could find is a red and white elliptical/oval shaped pill, marked with "RPC 053" in black print. This particular pill is identified as Colace (docusate) 100 mg; a laxative used in the treatment of constipation. Manufacturer: Purdue Pharma LP National Drug Code (NDC): 67618-0101 Is it possible that you may have mistaken the numbers on the pill, since the imprints and description are very similar?

I am unable to move my bowels from taking Exalgo and other opiods that I have taken for my chronic pain. I have tried taking drugs like Movantik and Amitiza that are supposed to relieve opiod constipation but they have not worked for me. Neither has more fiber, Colace, prunes, miralax etc. Anybody have any amazing remedy??? ## Very sorry about the problem you are having. I've been there, when taking opiates, but increased fiber intake helped me. Have you tried enemas, or suppositories? There are some available via prescription, and some over the counter products, since they are inserted anally, they work directly on the hardened stool. The FDA lists the typical side effects as including irritation, cramping, and diarrhea. Beyond that, you may need to go to the ER for treatment of th...

Any ideas on help for constipation side effect from the drug Ranexa? ## Hello, Nancy! How are you? A fiber supplement is usually the best and safest option, as long as your doctor says that it is safe for you to take one. You may also experience other side effects including nausea, dizziness, headache and stomach pain. Is there anything else I can help with? ## YES! What works great is Peri-Colace or a store brand with these two ingredients: 1. Ducosate Sodium 50mg (softening agent) *take 3 2. Sennosides 8.6mg (a stimulant) I take these with two Probiotic pills and they work better than anything else I've tried. Don't know if this works for everyone, but you will know immediately if they work. Take them before you go to bed at night and then eat breakfast. You should then know i...
