I would like to know the name of all the meds that work to treat poison ivy. Will cephalexin 500 mg or ciprofloxacin 500 mg work? ## No, these are antibiotics that are used to treat bacterial infections. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, diarrhea, and non-allergic skin rash. Poison ivy is actually an allergic reaction, so you may need a steroid to treat it, as well as an antihistamine, according to FDA reports. How are you doing, now? Has there been any change?

Can you take Diclofenac Sod when taking Cipro ## Actually, these two medications aren't generally prescribed together, due to the fact that combining them increases the risk of stimulation of the central nervous system and seizures. On the Ciprofloxacin Details page under Interactions it says "They may also interact with the GABA A receptor and cause neurological symptoms; this effect is augmented by certain nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs." Have they both been prescribed for you? ## yes ive been prescribed the two drugs ## I've been on dicloflanac and the dr prescribed me cipro

My doctor just prescribed two drugs for two different conditions, prednisone for severe poison ivy and ciprofloxacn for a urinary infection. After doing a bit of research, it is my understanding that prednisone should not be taken when there is an infection. Should I take them both? (Prednisone dosage: 5mg each tablet; 10 tablets daily for 2 days, reducing to 9/2days; 8/2days; 6/2days; 4/2days; 2/2days; 1/2days. Cipro dosage: 500 mg; 1 tablet twice daily for 14 days) ## You shouldn't take it if you have an active fungal infection that you are taking oral medications for, and it can make it easier for you to develop an infection, but it is fine to take if you're doctor has prescribed it for you, and is monitoring your condition regularly. The FDA lists the typical side effects of...

Im concerened as i have had a heart attack 2 yrs. ago. And am concerned of affects on my heart. ## Once you are a full 24 hours in to taking an antibiotic, you should not see any worsening. Since you have experienced more swelling, it may mean that this one isn't work for you and you should return to your dentist/doctor as you may need to try something else. The FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. I have been on Breo for quite some time but was given a trial of Trelegy. Used for 6 days but had thick mucus in throat during night and heavy deep cough, back on Breo for 4 days then completed Trelegy for 8 days. The following day had bowel pain and mucus (diarrhea) for 3-4 days then constant fecal diarrhea. Put on Cipro & Metronidazole then off Cipro and on Amoxicillin-clav. Extreme pain & diarrhea during night, went to ER. Given IV meds and sent home with Diphenoxylate/atropine. At that point diagnosed with diverticulitis but no explanation how it was caused (I have had it but ALWAYS could determine what set it off). Finished all meds with no relief so put on Cholestyramine. Been on it for 8 days now and finally getting relief from constant diarrhea. This entire experience ha...

Used to treat MRSA ## To treat MRSA, Vancomycin or other antibiotics in the same class are used. Other options may include: Flucloxacillin, Erythromycin and Ciprofloxacin. I am not, however, finding any that start with an R. but it is possible that some doctors may use Rocephin, the active ingredient in Ceftriaxone, though it is not listed as being used to treat MRSA. So I discontinued taking Ciprofloxacin for a UTI about four weeks ago and since then I've been having some unusual problems. Such as thickness of throat feeling, slight shortness of breath, pressure behind eyeballs, random pains around my ear, ribcage pain, heartburn, upper abdominal pain, sharp pain near belly button, out of body feeling, and on and off sharp pains around my heart. Two days after I stopped the drug my heart was racing, my mouth became very dry and I was having pains around my heart. I went to the ER, was hooked up to an IV and was told I had Dehydration and High Blood Pressure. I found that very weird because prior to coming in I had drank five bottles of water that morning, was completley relaxed and I have never had a High Blood Pressure problem ever before. They...
