Yes, it's ridiculous that both medicare and united health care will not pay for this! Or the generic librax. I have both ibs and an ulcer. This works for me. I'm with aarp! Anybody else on here in the same situation? Let's contact them to get help! Isn't that what they are here for? ## I am a State employee with total coverage insurance as well as pharmacy coverage. We just had to change to a new company in January. Librax is not in their Formulary, and is not covered. 90 day supply of brand name is over $6000 and generic is over $900. Even with good wages it is not possible to continue on with the drug. I have an appointment with my doctor in several weeks to try to work on a new medication.

Took 25mg tabs of librium for a week. Noticed that my libido disappeared. So i stopped taking it. How long will it take for my libido to return? I'm a 25 year old fairly healthy male. ## That can be a side effect of this Chlordiazepoxide, though there is no way to say for sure when it will ease off, but given that you only took it for a week, it shouldn't take too long. Are you on any other medications? Did you experience any of the other side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, or headache?

Does this medication have any interactions with the following drugs: Lamictal, Lithium Carbonate, Glucophage, Buspirone? ## Based on my research, there are several drug interactions listed between the medications you mentioned. Quoted below are the precautions you should be aware of: "Using lithium together with (Glucophage) metformin can decrease the effects of metformin, which can lead to hyperglycemia (high blood sugar). Talk with your doctor before using lithium while you are using metformin. You may need a dose adjustment and you may need to check your blood sugar more often." Mr doctor wrote prescription for Librax and did not specify brand name only. My local pharmacy dispensed Chlordiazepoxide-Clidinium at a copay of $4.86 for 40 pills.. However, my Mail Order provider sent me Librax at a cost of $162.39 for 100 pills. When I questioned the mail order company, they advised Chlordiazepoxide-Clidinium had not been approved for automatic substitution for Librax and they could not give me the generic. They did advise that if the prescription had been for Chlordiazepoxide-Clidinium they would have dispensed that drug. Are they giving me the facts or run around? It is Generic for Librax®, (Chlordiazepoxide HCl + Clidinium HBr). It's Strength is 5mg/2.5mg. It is a combination of a benzodiazepine called Chlordiazepoxide Hydrochloride, similar to (Xanax® or Valium®), but also contains an anticholinergic Clidinium Hydrobromide which is used for stomach ulcers, acid reflux, and to relax and slow digestive tissue muscles. I have always filled this prescription and gotten small green capsules. Today I received yellow capsules with RE369 on the capsule. Is that the same type of medication? The green capsule was manufactured by EXCELLUM. The yellow says RIVRS EDG. ## Yes, the capsules marked RE 369 do contain the same medication, to be specific, since you didn't mention a dosage, they contain 5mgs of Chlordiazepoxide and 2.5mgs of Clidinium. This medication is commonly used to treat ulcers, IBS and Gastritis. chlordiazepoxide clidinium caps can these affect your blood pressure ## Some adverse reactions reported during therapy with chlor-diazepoxide hydrochloride include isolated instances of skin eruptions, edema, minor menstrual irregularities, nausea and constipation, extrapyramidal symptoms, as well as increased and decreased libido. Such side effects have been infrequent and are generally controlled with reduction of dosage. Other side effects may include: dryness of the mouth, blurring of vision, urinary hesitancy and constipation. That said, there doesn't appear to be any side effects related to changes in blood pressure; except possibly changes in libido or menstrual irregularities. I am trying to get a prescription program. I am on medicare. None of the prescrption programs cover the drug listed above. It is either not covered or is a huge amount.
