CAN I TAKE METHOCARBAMOL WITH THIS COUGH MEDICINE? ## Based on my research there are drug interactions found between Methocarbamol and the Codeine inside of Iophen-C NR (codeine + guaifenesin). Information I was able to gather states the following, regarding this interaction: "Central nervous system and/or respiratory depressant effects may be additively or synergistically increased in patients taking multiple drugs that cause these effects, especially in elderly or debilitated patients." Can I take Duro-tuss Cough Liquid with Staphylex (flucloxacillin) 500mg that I'm using for a skin infection? ## Hello Wally, I hope you are having a wonderful day. According to DailyMed neither Staphylex or Flucloxacillin list each other or their active ingredients as having negative interactions, however, they do state that you should consult your doctor if you plan to take any additional medication. The FDA warns that this medication carries the risk of being habit forming and may cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, headache, dry mouth, and constipation. So when they told you that you tested positive for hydrocodone, they likely meant narcotics. Another possibility is that hydrocodone contains different amounts of Tylenol, anywhere from 325mg to 1000mg.
