I started cellcept yesterday for a liver problem. It says I can't eat 2 hours before and 4 hours after. I would like to know does that include popsicles? ## Hello, Brenda! How are you? Popsicles are actually considered a clear liquid, so it should be fine, unless you've been instructed otherwise. They are just like ice chips, but with flavor. cellcept was prescribed for me by neurologist for multiple sclerosis. Have had MS for 20 years and had symptom progression 2 years ago. Within 4 weeks I had almost complete turnaround with my MS disabilities. I could see better, was able to walk without my cane. I could swallow without choking. I speach and handwritting improved 100%. My doctor is with the Vanderbilt MS clinic. I have not been able to talk with anyone else with MS who has had such improvement. I have had no side effects. I must have CBC blood test every 6-8 weeks. Would like to hear if this is considered a break-through with other MS patients. I don't think FDA has approved cellcept for use in MS treatment. ## My mom has had MS for 25yrs, has been wheelchair bound since 1998, we tried Avenox, Copaxon, Betaseron shot...

My doctor has approved a drop from 2000/day to 1000/day and I am experiencing a fogginess and lack of pep. I use it with prednesone for myasthenia gravis. Has anyone had adverse issues when using a lower dose of cellcept? Bob ## It is completely normal to experience withdrawal type symptoms any time you lower the dosage of a medication, or stop taking it. It occurs because your body was used to the previous dosage you were taking. Have the symptoms tapered of by now? This should happen, once your body adjusts to the new lower dosage.

I had a kidney transplant and am on the following medications: Tacrolimus, cellcept, amlodipine, atenolol, bactrim & humalog (for diabetes). Can I take forskolin as well? I weigh 228lbs. ## I am sorry, but since Forskolin is classified as a supplement, I have not been able to find any information on this. The FDA doesn't require testing for them, as it does for actual medications. Has your doctor instructed you take it?

lupus nephritis ## I am a doctor of internal diseases and I need some information about selsept for my patient. ## Cellcept contains the active ingredient Mycophenolate, it is an immunosuppressant, most commonly used to prevent rejection in organ transplants. Common side effects may include: nausea, drowsiness, diarrhea and infections. You can read more here: Do you have any other questions?

Are there any withdrawals or side effects from stopping Tacrolimus? I had a heart tx and I'm still on Rappamune, Cellcept, and Prednisolone. ## Has your doctor advised you to stop taking it? It is an immunosuppressant, so you should always follow your doctor's advice about taking such medications, as a sudden cessation that isn't supervised could result in organ rejection.

My husband was diagnosed with lupus in july 2007. he was put on prenisone and then in January 2008 he started on cellcept. after this many months he started with diareha. he had a colonoscopy to rule out other problems. the doctor was sure that the diarehia was from the cellcelp. he stopped the cellcept this past friday. will my husband have withdrawal and will the diarehia stop. should they start another type of therapy in place of the cellcep. ## I have been on cellcept for nearly 5 years now(kidney transplant). Your husband's diareha can be from the cellcept. I went off of cellcept when I got pregnant with my son. After I had him I had to go back on cellcept and I got diareha, I remember when I first started cellcept I had it also. I hope this helps.

I have been diagnosed with this about 3 to 4 years ago and have tried many treatments. Ultimately I am on CellCept 500 mg 4 a day. My concern is taking this long term. Are there other alternative medications that have worked for any of you? I don't like the long-term side effects including sudden death and cancer. Also, how will you know if you're in remission because you're on the medication? I I know I can ask my rheumatologist about other therapies, but I was just wondering if anybody had any positive results with any other medications? Thank you very much for your time. ## Hi Cynthia, I started CellCept about a month ago for MCTD with Scleroderma that has started attacking my lungs. I have been on Methotrexate before this for a couple years. The methotrexate really helpe...

I have a chronic eye disease called Uveitis.. My eye doctor wants to put me on a drug called CellCept.. He says he hopes to use CellCept to keep my eye stable. The problem and fear that I have is that I am a Benzodiazepine and anti-depressant addict, I take them to go to sleep.. 10mg Diazepam and 30mg of Mirtazepine. When they put me on Predisolone they said there wouldn't be any interaction, and there was. I was a total mess on Preds, maybe due to the combination. Couldn't function, couldn't walk, just a mess! Since coming off Preds my health has improved. I'm very worried about starting CellCept.. I'm worried about getting PML (Progressive multifocal leukoencephalopathy). I'm very fearful that maybe due to the fact I'm taking Diazepam and Mirtazepine that b...

new drug for lupus ## I am on daily of 3000mg of cell cep for threatment of Pemphagus.are there any long term usage side effects?I have been on it close to four years .any chance of weaning the medication out? ## Did you mean the immunosuppressive drug Cellcept? The FDA lists its typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, vomiting, headache, and runny nose. As to long term side effects, there are always risks with taking any medication, such as liver damage, or kidney damage. As to weaning off of it, the really depends on the severity of your condition, and what your doctor thinks you should do.

I have chronic anemia from Crohn's disease and we decided to do Venofer this year to address my anemia. I did like 10, 200mg infusions and my HGB was declining the whole time. Long story short, I had to go on Prednisone, switch GI docs, go on Remicade and Cellcept to get disease under control. Then we started with the Injectafer. The first two infusions went fine. I started feeling much better. After a couple of months my iron had dipped again below range and we decided to do another 2 Injectafer infusions. The infusions themselves went fine. It was around then that my body started hurting all over. My neck, back, elbows, knees, feet, etc. My GI doc thought I had developed antibodies to the Remicade so we tested for that and I have no antibodies. Now I suspect the Injectafer is the ...

I was diagnosed with SLE and RA finally. I was given Plaquenil for the lupus symptoms and cymbalta for depression and pain. Are these good medications for SLE and RA ## Yes. I have SLE and have been prescribed Plaquenil 200mg, twice daily for the past 10 years. However my SLE began to attack my Kidneys and Lungs; therefore, I was placed on Steriods (started at 40 mg down to 7.5 mg daily) and Cellcept 2 grams daily (medication used to treat cancer) to suppress my immune system. I also take Cymbalta for depression. ## ## I also take Plaquenil twice daily for Rheumatoid Arthritis. This is an antimalarial drug that also has been found to help with RA symptoms by suppressing the immune system's response. I have my eyes checked about twice a year to ensure that this medicine has not affec...
