My daughter has been prescribed Cefuroxime 500 for an infection and has only taken it for 1 day (2 doses) Last night the baby breastfed at 11:00 pm then went to sleep and did not wake up until 12:00 PM (13 hours and no food) He is only 3 WEEKS old! Even with her sitting him up, rubbing his back , changing his diaper using a cold diaper wipe, which he hates, she still had a hard time waking him. He finally woke up long enough to breastfeed. ## I WAS GIVEN THIS FOR A SPIDER BITE. I AM NOT SURE WHAT THE DRUGS PURPOSE IS. I THINK IT IS A STERIOD TO REDUCE INFLAMMATION. Following breast cancer, severe infection @ mastectomy site, 3 celulitis infectiions, all within 11 months, my Infectious Disease doctor prescribed 500mg tab of Cefuroxime. Have been taking this for 10 years. Is this ok? This was after heavy duty IV antibiotics in hospital & @ home. I haven't had any kind of infection since then. I was given the above Ceftin for a UTI that another antibiotic did not clear. I had severe diarrhea for a day now have severe muscle tightness from my head down to my feet with pain. When I try to stretch, I get pins and needles. I stopped taking. When will it be created and muscles loosened. I can hardly walk, as lower back is tight , and it radiates down my butt to my leg. What can I do? How can I get relief? ## Those can be normal side effects of this medication, according to NIH reports. Unfortunately, the only thing that is going to help them go away is time. How much water do you drink when taking the medicine ## Ideally, it should be taken with a full, 8 ounce glass of water. However, in most cases taking it with juice or etc. is also acceptable. How much water do you drink when taking the medicine ## Hello, Usually one 8oz glass of water is enough but I can't find any pertinent information stating that you must take Cefuroxime Axetil with a certain amount of water. I have only found information stating that it should be taken with food to help the absorption and reduce stomach upset.
