I had a total knee replacement, it got infection; went back to hospital for another surgery to "clean the infection up," and got C. Diff. Was treated just a couple of days (via unknown medication, red drops directly into my mouth). I am about to complete 6 full weeks of Rocephin via Pick Line. I have a dull ache in the sciatia every time my knee hurts. Could this possilby be related? Also, what is the possibility of my getting C. Diff again? ## Hello, Dean! How are you? The aching is most likely just due to the knee replacement and is some nerves radiating. They can do that quite often, though the pain may be arising from another location. I'm not sure what the chances are of your getting it, again. Have your doctors given you any information on that? I'll do some resear...

Hello my name is Dee. I am a c 6-7 quadriplegic and I have ongoing uti's because I have an indwelling Foley catheter. I have developed Steven Johnsons Syndrome from Septra 2 yrs ago. Now I'm being treated for another uti and I was on Ceftriaxone and developed a severe reaction from it. So I've been prescribed Cypro but I'm scared to take it. I had ceftriaxone yesterday afternoon and doc gave me cypro for today. Should I wait till tomorrow or will it mess up my progression of getting better? ## Hello, Dee! How are you? You should be able to just make a smooth switch from one antibiotic to the other, unless your doctor has directed otherwise. The U.S. FDA lists the typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. ...

How are you? I am very sorry about the problems you're experiencing. Are you periods late, or did your cycle just change? As reported by the NIH, many antibiotics can lengthen your cycle, which could result in your cycle change and it may not always go back to its prior schedule. In other words, are you always going 45 days, or so, between periods, or they still a regular time span apart and just 15 days off of what your cycle was, before you took the antibiotic?

doctor has prescribe monocef 200 mg for fever but the medical shop gave me mahacef 200 mg and says that both are same. Can I take this ## Mahacef is listed as containing the active ingredient Cefixime, and Monocef is listed as containing Ceftriaxone, so while they are not exactly the same, they are both antibiotics that are used to treat bacterial infections. The FDA lists antibiotic side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash, and diarrhea. Ref: Antibiotic Information Your pharmacist may not have had the other one available, so they provided you with this alternative, but you should check with your doctor to be sure. Hi. I have stomach pains (from a possible stomach infection) and it's been days. They gave me Triaphin 250mg. Will it help me? ## Hi Prudy, Sorry to hear about your stomach pain. Did the prescribing doctor provide any diagnostics to help determine whether you actually have an infection or not? From what I've researched, Triaphin (Ceftriaxone) 250mg isn't a particularly well known antibiotic, possibly because it's often referred to as an injection, but the active ingredient is reportedly used for treating a variety of bacterial infections. If you do in fact have an infection present, I don't see why this antibiotic wouldn't help under your doctor's recommendation to take it. However, something to keep in mind is that stomach cramps/pains are listed as a potent...

Will 500mg penicillin vk cure both said infections? And how many if so should i take? ## Hello, Drew! How are you? Have you seen a doctor to verify that you have such infections? Penicillin is generally not the preferred antibiotic to treat either infection. According to the NIH, the preferred one for Chlamydia is Azithromycin or Doxycycline and for Gonorrhea, it's usually Ceftriaxone. Thus, you should see your doctor to get the right medication.
