I was prescribed this for a sinus infection. First of all u cant take this with probenicid. I am also allergic to penicillin. after three days taking ceftin 500mg twice a day. Im allergic to penicillin and cipro. The Dr gave me ceftin for UTI. I had scalp itch the first dose and bad head stuffiness with the second. I had read that penicillin is like ceftin. I took a 10 day dose of Ceftin and then broke out in hives and took 6 days of steroids and benadryl and Pepcid for that. Benedryl was making me unable to function so stopped taking it and began taking homeopathic drops for hives. It has been 23 days since the first dose of Ceftin. How long will this take to get out of my system? ## After 23 days, it is already long out of your system. If you still have hives, then I am suspicious that something other than the Ceftin is causing them and you really need to speak to your doctor.

I am taking a pill with A34 marked on it - Ceftin generic. It seems to disintegrate in my mouth and tastes horrible!!! I'm afraid that the binder is not working and that it will not release over a 12 hour period as it should. Can anybody confirm this or help me understand it? ## Just because you take a pill every 12 hours does not mean it is a time released tablet. Did the prescription or bottle specifically say it was time released and warn you not to crush or chew it? Are you referring to a National Drug Code (NDC)? I took a full course of Ceftin for bronchitis/sinus infection. About halfway through I noticed tiny bloodstains in my underwear where my peninsula and testicles rest. I also developed an extremely uncomfortable itching and redness in my jock area. I also developed itchiness in my scalp and forehead. It has been a few days since my last dose, and the bloodstains are diminishing. The itchiness has gotten worse, however. I don't know what to do. I was given the above Ceftin for a UTI that another antibiotic did not clear. I had severe diarrhea for a day now have severe muscle tightness from my head down to my feet with pain. When I try to stretch, I get pins and needles. I stopped taking. When will it be created and muscles loosened. I can hardly walk, as lower back is tight , and it radiates down my butt to my leg. I took flagyl for 4 days after a bad reaction (stomach pain, mucus in bowel movements) to Ceftin. I was supposed to take the flagyl for 7 days but couldn't tolerate the nausea, etc. It has been a week since I stopped the Flagyl and my symptoms from the Ceftin are returning. Is there anything over the counter I can take to remedy this? Pill Image This is called Ceftin it is 250mgs, the active ingredient is called Cefuroxime, it is a Cephalosporin class antibiotic.
