I was prescribed this for a sinus infection. First of all u cant take this with probenicid. I am also allergic to penicillin. after three days taking ceftin 500mg twice a day. My entire body was aching and joints are hurting. The pharmacy didn't even catch this. ## Hello, Donna! How are you? It isn't that they can't be taken together, it's just that the Cephalexin may increase the effect of the Probenicid, so it must be prescribed cautiously. The body aches can happen with most antibiotics and is usually due to a combination of taking them and your body fighting the infection. The other side effects to this antibiotic may include nausea, dizziness, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. How long does it take for ceftin to get out of your system? I'm on a diet and waiting to cleanse and want to make sure I'm ok to do so. ## Hello, Kakes! How are you? I'm sorry, but I don't have a definitive answer to give you. It depends on what dosage you were taking, how long you were taking it and other individual factors concerning your own body. The FDA classifies this medication as an antibiotic and its typical side effects may possibly include nausea, dizziness, headache, non-allergic skin rash and diarrhea. Additionally, you should be informed that such cleansing isn't actually proven to do anything, or to be of any benefit. I took a 10 day dose of Ceftin and then broke out in hives and took 6 days of steroids and benadryl and Pepcid for that. Tasting Ceftin before it is swalled?

I am taking a pill with A34 marked on it - Ceftin generic. It seems to disintegrate in my mouth and tastes horrible!!! I'm afraid that the binder is not working and that it will not release over a 12 hour period as it should. Can anybody confirm this or help me understand it? ## Just because you take a pill every 12 hours does not mean it is a time released tablet. Did the prescription or bottle specifically say it was time released and warn you not to crush or chew it? Because, if it didn't then it isn't and I am not away of a there being a time released formulation of Ceftin on the market. When pills are regular release formulations and they are not coated, then it is normal to have it start dissolving, as soon as saliva or liquid hits it. To avoid this, when you take it, ... ...

American equivalent drug number for Zinnat (Ceftin)

Can anyone please give me the AE (american equivalent) number for "Zinnat" which is apparently the foreign name for "Ceftin" that was made by Glaxo Smith Kline? ## Please correct me if I'm wrong, but there's no such thing as an "American equivalent drug number" - at least to my knowledge. Are you referring to a National Drug Code (NDC)? If so, one would need to know more pill information such as the shape, color, imprint, etc., in order to begin a deeper investigation that would take into account both the active as well as the inactive ingredients for a closer comparison. NOTE: Ceftin contains the active ingredient Cefuroxime, an antibiotic which is available in America by prescription-only. I hope this helps! ## Hi David, according to my insurance compan... ...

Itchiness and blood

I took a full course of Ceftin for bronchitis/sinus infection. About halfway through I noticed tiny bloodstains in my underwear where my peninsula and testicles rest. I also developed an extremely uncomfortable itching and redness in my jock area. I also developed itchiness in my scalp and forehead. It has been a few days since my last dose, and the bloodstains are diminishing. The itchiness has gotten worse, however. I don't know what to do. I have scratched and now caused cuts. ## Hi Ray, Sorry to hear about your experience with Ceftin. Aleternative to Flagyl?

I took flagyl for 4 days after a bad reaction (stomach pain, mucus in bowel movements) to Ceftin. I was supposed to take the flagyl for 7 days but couldn't tolerate the nausea, etc. It has been a week since I stopped the Flagyl and my symptoms from the Ceftin are returning. Is there anything over the counter I can take to remedy this? I don't want to take the flagyl again if I can help it. ## Since Flagyl is a nitroimidazole antibiotic medication used particularly for anaerobic bacteria and protozoa; I would think for the symptoms you described, that supplementing with probiotics, digestive enzymes, and oil of oregano would be a good alternative approach. Wild oregano is rich in a long list of minerals that includes calcium, magnesium, zinc, iron, potassium, copper, boron, and m... ...

oxycodone gx es7

its for pain its a oval shaped pill with gx es7 on it i would like to know what it is and what is made of ## Well this is definitely NOT Oxycodone. Pill Image This is called Ceftin it is 250mgs, the active ingredient is called Cefuroxime, it is a Cephalosporin class antibiotic. This treats many different types of infections, including respiratory, but it is definitely not, any type of narcotic drug. ## By the way, I am not sure who told you it was for pain, but it does not fall under that classification either, as I said, just an antibiotic. The only way it will help pain, is if the pain is being caused by an infection, and after a few days of taking this antibiotic and it starts to work, then the pain will naturally ease, as it would with any antibiotic once it started working and defe... ...
