As a breast cancer patient, I would like information on Xeloda before administration. ## Xeloda (Capecitabine) is used in combination with other medications to treat breast cancer that has come back after treatment with other medications. It is also used alone to treat breast cancer that has not improved after treatment with other medications. Capecitabine is also used to treat colon or rectal cancer (cancer that begins in the large intestine) that has gotten worse or spread to other parts of the body. It is also used to prevent colon cancer from spreading in people who have had surgery to remove the tumor. Capecitabine is in a class of medications called antimetabolites. On Oxaliplatin for four cycles still have the cold reactions and was wanting to find out how long it stays in your body? ## How long does it take to get Oxaliplatin and xeloda out of your system? ## Oxaliplatin has a short elimination half-life of about 10-25 minutes. Many pharmacists consider most or all of the drug to be out your system in the period of about 5 half-lives. In relation to this drug, that would mean Oxaliplatin takes roughly 2 hours to leave your system. Xeloda (Capecitabine) is largely eliminated as metabolites (> 95% of the dose). The terminal half-life of the parent drug and its metabolites is short (less than 1 hour), and excretion proceeds via the urine.
