Anyone having shortness of breath due to this new drug Caduet? ## Well I have been having shortness of breath and feeling tired but i haven't put the 2 together. This is my 2nd week on caduet and i am holding a lot of water and my feet are swelling bad. Has anyone been tired and experienced swelling on this medication? ## The swelling is a normal side effect of this medication. I would like to know whether or not Caduet or Toprol XL contain a diuretic because I am scheduled to take some tests (ECOG and ENG) that require me to discontinue diuretics 48 hours prior to the tests. ## No, neither of these medications contain a diuretic. What does EQ base stands for? Example is CADUET AMLODIPINE BESYLATE; ATORVASTATIN CALCIUM EQ 5MG BASE; EQ 10MG BASE. What does EQ and base mean? ## It means that the given dosage works in the body equivalent to that dosage. You might see a medication listed as being 4.5mgs base, equivalent to 5mgs. I was recently diagnosed with severe high blood pressure. I went to a new doctor since I'm new to the area. He put me on Caduet 5mg/10mg once daily and clonidine 0.1mg twice daily. The Caduet was just for seven days, as it supposedly brings the BP down right away, as the clonidine takes longer. After the week, the dr. had me quit the Caduet and increase the clonidine to two 0.1mg tablets twice daily. I was scared to double the dosage, as the one tablet twice daily dose was making me extremely tired, and made me short of breath - hard to explain how that felt/feels. I wasn't sure how much was the Caduet or the clonidine, though. The first day I took the two clonidine tablets in the morning, I was okay for about an hour and a half, then got so dizzy I thought I was going to faint ...

What prescription drug can replace Norvasc and Cartia with low incidence of side effects. I already take Lisiniprol and Atenolol. ## Dr. just replaced novasc & lipitor with cadulet 10mg/20mg. Can Caduet control within 3 months if strict diet/excercise program is followed, and side effects of male sexual function. ## Generally, these types of medications take between 2 weeks to a month to reach their full effect and a diet and exercise program should help. However, there is no way to know if it will actually work for you, until you actually try it for awhile. Side effects can include: nausea, headache and dizziness. Any effect on male sexual function is very rare, most people don't experience it. Is there anything else I can help you with?
