I have been taking brand name Avapro for years, but now that it has gone generic Theexpense has become astronomical. Thinking about going generic ...however worried about side effects. I have just started taking Avapro and Lexapro. I am sleepy all the time, even after a full nights rest. My husband has lost 70 lbs or more when he was on these two pills. He has been spleeing alot and now has a fine electric line across his eye. Why does he need TWO High Blood Pressure pills. His urnie output if lower. He has NO liver or Kidney problems or Heart. He was just told by his doctor that he doesn't have to Test his Blood Sugar anymore. I have noticed unusual symptoms if I forget to take my 225mg dose of Avapro in the morning(which I've done on 3 or 4 occasions over the past 2 years). Also, I recently lowered the dose to 150mg. After 4 days of this, I was in a very nervous state. Because the nervousness was becoming unbearable, halfway through the 4th day of just taking the 150mg, I decided to take the 75mg tablet as well to bring me up to my regular daily dose and, within an hour, my nervousness subsided. Has anybody else had a similar experience? ## Your body gets used to anything that you ingest regularly, be it a prescription drug or your morning cup of coffee and if you suddenly lower your dose or stop taking it, you will suffer some withdrawal effects.

Took avapro and lortab 3 am lortab5/325, then took another lortab 5/325 at 430. Now diastolic bp low. Avapro 75 mg, because bp low yesterday. 6a bp 73 /45. Been walking around ,excercising ,drinking water. Went up to 118/76. Feet tingling.bp low yesterday at 530p. Took 150 avapro yesterday at 1a. Also take Valium. Since I began taking 2 x 150 mg pills of Avapro a day I have been sleeping more. Anyone else with this? ## Occasionally I suddenly get INTENSELY sleepy (not physically tired). Am also taking Lopressor and Zocor. ## What medical condition does Avapro treat? My husband's doctor prescribed this without explaining what it does. ## Physicians should tell their patients what they are perscribing their drugs for. ANXIETY ## This is not used for anxiety. It is Avapro 300mg. It is a medication used for high blood pressure and to help expel any extra water in the body. Side effects include inability to pass urine, heart palpitations, dizziness. ## Yep, nenene is correct, the generic/drug name for this is Irbesartan, and it is most definitely an Angiotensin II Receptor Agonist, which really has no other uses other than to lower blood pressure. I even looked up several monographs on it, at various sites, and anti-hypertensive is the only use that is indicated and approved by the FDA and stated by the manufacturers. Why is it that taking pepto bismo causes me to have frequent urination just about every hour at night time? I also take Lipitor, Avapro, Metformin, Januvia and Actos. ## Lipitor interacts with antacids. My father has the same problem, plus nausea and stomach problems. Going to doctor to try and get him off it. Liptor from what I've been studying is not a very good, or useful, drug for most people. From what I've read, it only helps 1-3% of people. I need to find out if pharmacy gave me correct strength 300 mg of Ibertasan, pill only marked Teva. Half the weight of original pill of Avapro. ## Hi Helga, Have you already tried calling the pharmacy that filled your prescription? That is probably the quickest way to determine if they messed up on your script. Since the only imprint is "Teva", I can't narrow down my search on this specific pill; being that there are multiple pills that have a Teva marking. I have high blood pressure of 180, so the doctor gave me a sample of this medication and it works pretty good. Has anyone had side effects on this one? can zanidip give you blurred vision ## Zanidip contains the active ingredient Lercanidipine, this is a calcium channel blocker used to treat hypertension and cardiovascular diseases. That said, yes, they do commonly cause blurred vision, as well as headache, nausea and joint/muscle aches. Have you spoken to your doctor, yet, about this issue? ## I have been taking Zanidip 10 mg along with Avapro plus in the morning, but now the doctor told me to take it at night with Minax. Wanted a generic for Diovan because the cost became prohibitive. Have not started the Losartan yet. What are the differences in these 2 pills, if any. ## Both drugs are in the same class of medication. They are both ARB's (angiotensen II receptor blockers.) They just have slightly different chemical structures. A dose of Losartan 25mg is approximately equivalent to Diovan 40mg as far as dosing goes. It should work as well as Diovan in lowering your blood pressure. If it does not, Avapro (another ARB) is also available generically. ## I'm taking Diovan 160MG and Losartan 100mg together. My blood pressure is high. Is it because I'm taking both of these meds daily?
