But in terms of reviews, the FDA approved Aptiom back in 2013 based on three large clinical trials, including over 1,400 people who've been living with partial-onset seizures. According to these studies, Aptiom reportedly demonstrated a statistically significant reduction (of up to 50% or more) in standardized seizure frequency from where patients were prior to treatment. I am on Aptiom for Trigeminal Neuralgia. Any info about side effects when Aptiom is increased. Now at 1200 mg. any info would be greatly appreciated. I think this is my last hope before going to narcotics which really doesn't work on this excruciating nerve pain. Already had two unsuccessful surgeries and was told no more. I started talking 5 mg Saphris ten days ago and now have insomnia that has gotten worse. I have epilepsy and am seizure free but take three primary medications. Lamitical 800 mg (400 mg AM and 400 mg afternoon), Aptiom 500mg afternoon, and Clonazepam 2 mg at night for sleep. Last night I skipped the 5 mg and am going to start taking it in the mornings. At least my Clonazepam knocked me out as usual but I woke up at 3:30 AM and can't get back to sleep. Can someone give me advice? ## I would say persist with Saphris. The insomnia will pass in a few weeks.The benefis of a clearer mind outweigh the costs. For the time being if you get at least 4 hours sleep and are not too tired during the day you should be ok.
