Aplenzin Bupropion Hydrobromide

Bupropion, sold under the brand names Wellbutrin and Zyban among others, is an atypical antidepressant primarily used to treat major depressive disorder and to support smoking cessation.[6][7] Bupropion is an effective antidepressant on its own, but it is also popular as an add-on medication in the cases of incomplete response to the first-line selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) antidepressant.[7][8] Bupropion has seve...

Has anyone here tried Aplenzin? If so, what were the results? This appears to be a very close alternative to Wellbutrin XL; however it uses bupropion hydrobromide in lieu of bupropion hydrochloride. URL: aplenzin.com ## Hello, Matt! How are you? When it comes down to the basics, the hydrobromide and hydrochloride only mean something on a chemical level and aren't relevant to the actual action and efficacy of the medication. They just denote the chemical salt that the medication is derived from. Thus, it's not really an alternative to Wellbutrin, because it is still the same medication, just formulated slightly differently and made by a different company. Is there anything else I can help with?

My mother brought to my attention that anything with the word "hydro" in any medication could be a narcotic. I have a family history of drug abusers and don't want to follow in their steps so I would appriciate it if someone could answer this clearly as possible for me. Thank you for your time. ## Hi Ghost - to answer your question, no, Bupropion Hydrobromide is not a narcotic. It is an antidepressant (in a different class of drugs). Wikipedia states "In chemistry, a hydrobromide is an acid salt resulting, or regarded as resulting, from the reaction of hydrobromic acid with an organic base (e.g. an amine). The compounds are similar to hydrochlorides." I imagi...

looking for bupropion that is an immediate release pill prefferally white ## From what I've seen, there aren't any generic bupropion tablets that are both white and immediate-release. There are however, other brands of bupropion, such as Aplenzin, which are not extended-release and happen to be white as well. These particular pills are manufactured by Sanofi-Aventis. Teva Pharmaceuticals USA and Sandoz Pharma also make generic, immediate-release bupropion, but the pills are yellow, pink, and purple, as opposed to white. Are there any specific reasons why you prefer a white tablet? ## chemicaly sensitive to atifical colors, but these colors can be wash off slowly without destroying the integrety of pill (looking for white IR Bupropion ## I was taking bupropion xl 150 three a day ...
