Is it okay to take amrix ( muscle relaxer 15 mgs) while taking taking oxycodone (10 mgs) ? ## Oxycodone and Cyclobenzaprine use concomittantly must be done with caution and only with your doctors approval. Combining the two can worsen the central nervous system depressant effects that both medications can cause on their own. Is you doctor aware that you are taking both?

I took my first and only capsule of amrix 3 days ago and I still feel drowsy. I would like to continue with a smaller dose, like 5 mg. My Amrix is time released and a capsule contains many white beads. Can I simply divide the capsule and take a portion at a time? ## No, it is not safe to try and do that with any time released medication. What dosage are you taking? You doctor should be able to prescribe a lower one for you. The U.S. FDA lists its other typical side effects as possibly including nausea, dizziness, dry mouth, and headache. ## I don't think there is a lower dosage amrix than 15 mg.

My doc prescribed 15mg Amrix for a "severely herniated disc. This is the only new thing I'm taking. Today was 3rd day & my stomach hurts extremely badly. I took a Prilosec, Zantac 150mg & TUMS, to no avail. Stomach pain is listed in the Package Insert. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks! ## Sorry to hear about your situation. I was on regular Flexeril for a while. Then was on Soma til it stopped working. Was just prescribed 15mg of Amrix at bedtime. Since starting I have been diagnosed with Hyperthoroidism as I have lost 70lbs in the last 10 months. Was in hospital, testing n procedures for possible stomach cancer. That was negative, thank God! However, now the contraindications for Amrix is pts with overactive thyroid (Hyperparathyroidism) shouldn't take it. That's ALL I can find!! Can anyone PLEASE tell me why that is? What would happen if I continued to take it? I'm not, and now need to call pain mgmt with this new diagnosis. I have RA, ankylosing spondylitis, herniated discs, fibromyalgia and other conditions. Why I say that is because I was taking anything I could get my hands on. Then I met opanas, oh my god that is the closest thing to methadone that there is. My opinion I think opana 40 two or three times a day is harder to detox than methadone. I've done both anyway. suboxone made me feel normal. daughter in law was taking savella with nexium, amrix er, ambien cr, hydrocodone apap, lorazepam, apri 28 day and committed suicide. Could these led to her death? ## I am very sorry for your loss. Have you tried discussing your concerns with her doctor? Do you know what type of conditions she was being treated for? ## I have recently started savella for fibromyalgia. Everything I have read states that it can cause suicidal thoughts in the beginning.......but it also states that if there is a history of bipolar or suicidal thoughts, one should consult their doctor because dosage may need to be adjusted. I've tried every other muscle relaxer Tizanidine / (trade names Zanaflex, Sirdalud) Methocarbamol / trade name Robaxin/ Baclofen (brand names Kemstro, Lioresal, Liofen, Gablofen, Beklo and Baclosan) Cyclobenzaprine, brand names Amrix, Flexeril and Fexmid all of these have adverse side effects for me and virtually no muscle relaxer efficacy= they don't work well or really not at all side effects, headaches, dizziness, lots more soma / Carisoprodol however worked very well, and I had to take small amounts so that side effects were able to be kept at a minimum when soma / Carisoprodol began from what I've heard to gain a little popularity with druggies. doctors quit prescribing it, and authorities, the powers that be, began to council doctors against prescribing it I was not ab...
