Fentanyl, also spelled fentanil, is a powerful opioid used as a pain medication and, together with other medications, for anesthesia.[3] It is also used as a recreational drug, sometimes mixed with heroin, cocaine, or methamphetamine. Its potentially deadly overdose effects can be neutralized by naloxone.[5] Fentanyl is commonly used to create counterfeit drugs marketed as OxyContin, Xanax, Adderall, and other pills. It has a rapid onset and its effects general...

Does anyone know why Actiq cannot be sugar free? It works pretty well for my migraines but it's doing a number on my teeth. I know that Fentora is sugar free, but have heard it doesn't work as well and is not as long lasting as Actiq. ## I can't find any details on this, but my first guess is that it probably has to do with disguising the taste of the medication. Fentanyl is a narcotic and they are known to be very bitter and it would take a lot to make sure that they didn't completely gross someone out. In addition, the use of actual sugars as a sweetener opens them up to a much broader market, as many people can't use artificial sweeteners for various reasons. Any regular, long-term use of narcotics will harm your teeth, which is why most drug addicts or long-term ...

i take actiq but i have diabetes why is there no sugar free kind i do not care if it has aspartame i just care about my blood sugar ## This website does not manufacture any medications, it is an information only website. As to why it contains sugar, I am not sure if there's a specific reason for it, but you might be able to check with the manufacturer to find out. They have a website at Actiq.com details Alternatively, have you tried talking to your doctor about using something else that wouldn't have so much sugar in it, such as the Fentanyl patch? It is a time released patch to manage pain, which is changed every 3 days and contains the same active ingredient as the Actiq. HOW DO I GET MY DOCTOR TO PERSCRIBE ME THE ACTIQ SUCKERS THAT I ONCE TOOK FOR ABOUT A YEAR AND A HALF THAT WERE PERSCRIBED BY MY OTHER PAIN DR. I WAS TAKING THEM FOR BREAKTHROUGH PAIN AND THEY WERE THE BEST MEDICATION THAT REALLY WORKED. SO HOW DO I TALK TO MY NE DR. ABOUT HOW WELL THEY WORKED AND THAT I WOULD LIKE FOR HIM TO PERSCRIBE THEM FOR ME. I was on Actiq for 15yrs then my Dr. retired and the new replacement Dr. switched me to subsys. Every month I would ask to go back on lozenges (sucker type/lollipop). Then jan 5th of this yr 2016. he stopped treating me cold turkey.....I should say abruptly stopped. The quality of my life has gone down hill. I have to broken hips (femoral head off). I can not have surgery because I am a paraplegic, but have sensation in my hips but am not weight baring and have a big history of MRSA...I went through horrible withdraw, was a crazy person, now I don't do anything anymore. Just wondering if anyone knows the answer to this: I take Actiq for my migraines and works great most of the time but is really doing a number on my teeth. I've heard that the lozenge form of Fentanyl (Fentora) has no sugar in it at all, but a lot of people I've talked to say it's not as long lasting as the Actiq and their pain tends to re-occur quicker. Why can't they make the Actiq sugar free? ## I can't find any details on this, but my first guess is that it probably has to do with disguising the taste of the medication. ON A STICK LOLLI POP FASION AQTIC AT BOTTOM OF STIC 400MCG WHAT DOES IT DO HOW DOES IT EFFECT MY BODY ## Fentanyl, the active ingredient in Actiq is a very potent narcotic analgesic. The lollipop form is used to force a slow release of the medication in order to get better control of pain. Learn more Actiq details here. Since it is an opiate narcotic, it may be habit forming and could cause side effects, such as nausea, dizziness, dry mouth and constipation. Is there anything I can help with? Are there any comments or questions? ## I was taking Oxycontin until they switched it to OxyNeo. Not too sure how Health Canada cleared BHT as a safe ingredient; a chemical used in carpet cleaning. This is a light colored sucker that is supossed to be licked to stop pain after back surgery ## I believe what you may be talking about is the Actiq lollipop, though it is used to treat chronic pain and not just that which occurs after back surgery. It contains the active ingredient Fentanyl, which is a very potent narcotic and putting it into a lollipop form basically gives it a kind of time released formulation. Learn more Actiq details here. Does that sound like what you're thinking about?

just started zytiga, along with prednisone, 50 mg of casodex, lupron shot within 10 days.. and hitrofurantoin monohydrat 100 mg.. and have a white substance.. "OCCURING" frequently. on the inside of mouth. also on Fentnyl 50 mcg, and 600 mcg Fentnyl ( actiq).. ## Have you spoken to your doctor about it? There is a reasonably good chance that the white substance in your mouth is due to a yeast infection from the antibiotic, Nitrofurantoin that you are taking. They are well known to cause them as side effects. If that is what is causing the problem, then your doctor can prescribe an antifungal oral medication to help clear it up.

Hello I'm trying to find out the new pain medicine that kids are taking today that replaces the pain pill oxycontin. I saw a show on TV about this but I can't remember what It's called? I think it starts with the letterA? It's the new drug craze today. ## The only one I can think of offhand that starts with an A would be Actiq, it contains the narcotic Fentanyl, which is over 80 times stronger than Morphine and is available as a lollipop, it's a formulation used for slow release of the medication. Does this sound familiar?

My Pain Specialist who prescribed fentanyl actin lollipops 800 mcg has retired and I can not find any doctor anywhere who will. I live in Johnstown, PA I will run out in a few weeks and then I guess have to go to a Detox center. I did this once before. I had no problem after being detoxed. I had no cravings for fentanyl Actiq. I worked the twelve step program for a year but my pain just got worse and worse to the point I was seriously going to commit suicide. Then my neurology doctor referred me to a pain specialist who did prescribe me fentanyl actin lollipops 800 mcg four a day. I did not wish to start fentanyl again. I was disappointed but I could not take the pain so I went ahead and began to use the fentanyl and at least I could function yet I still had pain. I get no thrills from ...
